T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of October 21st-27th 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

*T-Time will be celebrating its 1 year anniversary on Saturday, November 8th at 10 p.m…. so please mark your calendars and be on the lookout for the Evite and/or Facebook invite for all the details!

First comes love and babies then comes breaking the law:

Nick Hogan, Hulk's son, was released from prison after serving 166 days for reckless driving after an ugly car accident that left his good friend, John Graziano, in critical condition. Lindsay Lohan may have calmed down, but she still has to pay for her past mistakes. Lindz is being sued by the guys who were in the SUV she "hijacked" last summer to chase down her assistant after she quit! Not only is she being sued, but Lindsay just got cut from her guest role on Ugly Betty. Seems like her diva attitude, large entourage, and competing attitude with Ugly star America Ferrara was too much for the cast and crew to handle. Britney Spears caught a lucky break. Her court case regarding driving with a suspended license was dismissed when the jury couldn't come up with a verdict. Anne Hathaway's shady ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri was sentenced to 4 ½ years in prison for fraud, money laundering and other fun charges. To add to David Duchovny's crazy martial issues, the actor is now suing the Daily Mail for falsely reporting that he was having an affair with his tennis instructor.

At least one X-Files star is experiencing some good news. Gillian Anderson gave birth to a son named Felix. SNL can say good-bye to their last funny female cast member...Amy Poehler announced that she would be leaving the show after giving birth to her first child to pursue motherhood and another TV deal, but everyone thought she would last through the elections. Well baby boy, Archie Arnett (dad is fellow SNLer Will Arnett) came sooner than expected! After a string of female offspring Charlie Sheen is finally rewarding the world with 2 boys (he and wife Brooke are expecting twins)…let's hope they're not as trouble-prone as their dad! Dave Grohl, of the Foo Fighters, and his wife Jordyn are expecting their 2nd child, and rapper Lil' Wayne just had a 2nd child, a son named Dwayne Carter III.

There is nothing like a tragic accident to rekindle a love match…DJ AM and Mandy Moore (not sure what she's doing these days) are a couple once again. Guy Ritchie may be going through a divorce with Madonna, but at least he has a pretty shoulder to cry on. Rumor has it the director is dating Kelly Reilly, an actress in his new movie, a remake of Sherlock Holmes. And George Clooney seems to be hanging out with his on-again/off-again ex Krista "luckiest girl alive" Allen.

American Idol alum and Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson has had her life tragically turned upside down. Hudson's mother and brother were gunned down in their home, and her 7 year-old nephew's body was found in an SUV close to the crime scene (he was shot several times as well). William Balfour , Jennifer's sister's estranged, ex-convict husband, is the #1 suspect and is in police custody.

8 Days and Counting (Hallelujah!):
Senator Barack Obama not only has Hollywood's support but also members of the international community. London's mayor, Boris Johnson, publicly endorsed the Illinois senator. SNL had some fun with the resident Democrats. Federal agents just busted up a plot by 2 white supremacists to kill Obama and hundreds of African Americans in Tennessee...luckily these jerks were caught in time before anyone got hurt. Senator John McCain met with a who's who financial group that included former Massachusetts Governor and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney (a millionaire businessman in his own right), former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, and other influential business people to discuss the country's economic crisis and his plan for the future. Governor and GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin, has been dealing with some more controversy. She's being blamed for spending over $150,000 on clothes and travel for herself and her family. Palin has defended herself by stating that the clothes are property of the RNC and don't reflect her true, personal values (she needs to be dressed for all these events)…not to mention the fact that this doesn't really matter considering the other important issues going on in this world. At least Palin can sleep well at night knowing that her image is the top Halloween costume idea! Both campaigns are busy travelling the country and trying to win over the 50 states (in particular the ones that President Bush one). As a dance and TV dance show enthusiast, I think the best way to choose a candidate should be based on his/her dance skills! Will Ferrell will be reprising his role as President George W. Bush on Broadway with a solo show called You're Welcome America. A Final Night With George W. Bush.

NY mayor, Michael Bloomberg, asked for a chance to run for an unprecedented 3rd term and got it! He believes that he needs to stay in office during these hard economic times...now let's see if New Yorkers agree and vote him back in. And of course Paris Hilton is continuing her campaign for the presidency!

Tuesday, November 4th is ELECTION DAY! Please take the time out of your day to vote at your local voting station. It's beyond a super important decision, and it's your way of having an active hand in this country's future!!!

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! If you're getting sick of watching the young and beautiful of L.A., then you'll be happy to hear that there will indeed be a Hills spin-off show called The City . It will star Whitney Port and her adventures in NYC. The world's fattest man just got married! See even if you weigh 1,230 lbs you can still find love! Ever find out you have an STD and don't know how to break it to your loved ones or to the random person you took home the weekend before? Well now you can send an anonymous e-card! No one puts Baby in the corner…but maybe when Dirty Dancing comes to Broadway she'll be placed Stage Left. The city of San Francisco is trying to become the first city to decriminalize prostitution. If Proposition K passes it won't make prostitution legal, but it will make it illegal for authorities to investigate and prosecute these "women of the night" (I'm as confused as you are right now). A group of Swedish scientists have found that drinking 3 cups of coffee a day can shrink women's breasts, but watch out men cause it has the opposite effect (larger man boobs or "moobs"). The Philadelphia Phillies are trying to beat the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series...if they win tonight's rain-drenched game they're the champs. For all you Curb Your Enthusiasm fanatics you'll be happy to hear that the show has been renewed for another season. And the box office continues to prove that the mass movie goers this past weekend have no taste cause High School Musical 3 came in #1. At least we can be happy to know that this is the last of the High School musicals!!!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! 4 days till Halloween, 6 days till the NYC Marathon, 8 days till the election, and 12 days till T-Time's 1-year anniversary party! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.
