T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of December 23rd-29th 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

Celeb-Potpourri:

Paris Hilton's home was robbed a couple of weeks ago, and the criminals took off with more than $2M in jewelry and clothes. Not one to drown in her sorrows...Paris showed up on the streets of L.A. in a Pepto-Bismol pink Bentley (especially made for her). Oh I hope Paris never goes away!!! Who knew that David Spade was such a gun enthusiast. The actor saw a story on Fox News about how the Phoenix police department didn't have enough weapons and were buying their own to fight crime in the area. Well super-Spade came to the rescue and donated $100,000! Nice to see the stars giving back. DJ AM has decided to sue over the jet crash that almost took his life. Travis Barker and the families of the deceased have already filed suits. They all claim that the plane wasn't equipped and prepared for their flight so the whole accident could have been avoided. David Beckham, or g-d as T-Time likes to refer to him, has officially joined the Italian soccer/football team AC Milan for a short-term stint. So he'll be spending some time in Italy instead of the states. It's ok though...eventually he will come back! Tara Reid is still in rehab, but now gossip sites are claiming that it's all for publicity. Apparently the rehab center promised her free service in exchange for leaking her name. The center adamantly denies this, but I wouldn't put it past Reid. Remember all those pictures of Matthew McConaughey filming a surfing movie on the beach in those striped boardshorts? Yeah well the movie is finally out...on DVD. Surfer, Dude never made it to the big screen so you can get your hands on at your local video store! The Associated Press has named Tina Fey as the #1 Entertainer of the Year. Good choice AP!

Madonna and Guy Ritchie may be officially divorced but they still had Christmas together...for the sake of the kids. It seems that Madge's affair with A-Rod has fizzled out and she's dating a Brazilian model named Jesus. I don't know how much I believe that, but Queen M never ceases to surprise. Guy is reportedly dating Hugh Grant's ex-girlfriend Jemima Khan. It's nice to see these 2 move on so quickly! Rumors are swirling that JLo and Marc Anthony are about to split any day! One moment she's wearing her ring, and the next she's not. As of now they're playing nice and showing up places together. Poor JLo can't catch a love break. Woody Harrelson has finally married his girlfriend of 20 years, and mother to his children, Laurie Louie. The Girls Next Door "star" Kendra Wilkinson has picked a date for her wedding to Philadephia Eagles player Hank Baskett...June 27th. I bet you money they'll tape that for the show! Are they or aren't they?!? As of now...Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are not engaged. Actress Zooey Deschanel (Elf and Yes Man...which I recommend) is engaged to Ben Gibbard of the band Death Cab for Cutie. And America's Next Top Model Season 3 winner, Eva Marcille (formerly Pigford) is engaged to her House of Payne costar Lance Gross.

Britney may be showing signs of improvement, but she couldn't have done it without a very large team behind her. A judge has ruled that she must giver her dad a $6,000 raise for being her conservator. She also has to pay her brother for helping manage her money and all the lawyers for dealing with her craziness in and out of court. Brit Brit also sent our her Christmas card, and I have to admit it's pretty cute! Not to be outdone...Brit's ex K-Fed has a new girlfriend (some 6 ft volleyball player with a slightly violent past). Winners...all winners!

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz may be against selling pictures of their newborn son Bronx Mowgli, but they're not against posting his picture on their website. Here's the cute new babe. Lance Armstrong and his girlfriend Anna Hansen are expecting their first child together. What's especially amazing about this story is that Lance's 3 children from his previous marriage were conceived via artificial insemination...the cyclist had his sperm frozen after he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. But this new child was conceived au naturale. That man is unstoppable! Grey's Anatomy star Chyler Leigh (Lexi) is expecting her child with her hubby

If you're a fan of the Boss or if you're from NJ you'll be happy to know that Bruce Springsteen is releasing yet another greatest hits album. Touring artists did well this year. Bon Jovi had the top tour of the year, followed by Springsteen and Madonna taking 3rd place. Jennifer Hudson is still mourning the loss of her mother, brother and nephew and has backed out of many previously scheduled commitments. But it has been announced that she will perform live at the Grammys. Beyonce continues to release double videos for her new album I Am...Sasha Fierce. Her new singles are Halo and Diva. I'm normally like her dance songs, but this time Halo got me! With the new year only a day away there have been many "best of" lists compiled. Spin Magazine released its Top 20 videos of 2008. As a fan of videos this is one of my favorite lists!

The Office of President-elect Barack Obama:

Time Magazine has named their Person of the Year, and not surprising it is President-elect Barack Obama. Here's a look at Obama's current administration.
Interested in the Inauguration Day details? Well here's what we know so far. On the big day, January 20th, Obama will be sworn in by Pastor Rick Warren (an interesting choice since Warren is quite conservative and anti-gay marriage). He will be swearing on the same bible that Abraham Lincoln used when he was sworn in as our 16th President. And Obama's tux will be made by his favorite Chicago-based menswear designer Hart Schaffner Marx. Here is a more detailed schedule of the big day. But before he officially become the Pres, Obama and his family have been vacationing in Hawaii. They were also there to pay respects to his late grandmother who helped raise him and died 2 days before he won the election. The family spread her ashes in the ocean.

President Bush has been busy pardoning people...19 in all. But he actually withdrew 1 so now it's down to 18. See...no lame duck president here! Governor Sarah Palin is officially a grandma! Her daughter Bristol gave birth to a baby boy named Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.

Believe it or not but the Minnesota Senate race is still going on! Election Night was Nov. 4th!!! The recount is on-going...neither Al Franken [D] or Norm Coleman [R] are showing signs of giving up! Caroline, daughter of JFK, Kennedy has officially acknowledged interested in Hillary Clinton's soon-to-be vacant Senate seat. She has met w. Rev. Al Sharpton as well as NY Governor Paterson, and she has done a string of interviews. But so far reaction to her bid has been lukewarm. Illinois Governor Blagojevich is still fighting impeachment and claiming he did nothing wrong...despite the tape recorded conversations proving otherwise. He is being accused of trying to sell Obama's vacant Senate seat.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! The sad story of the missing Florida toddler, Caylee Anthony, finally came to an end. A body found in the woods was id'd as hers, and now the search is on for who her killer is...suspect #1 is her mom Casey Anthony. There is unrest in the Middle East yet again. Israel and Hamas are fighting one another after Hamas started airstrikes over the Gaza strip. Things are showing no signs of calming down. Israel refuses to back down and will continue to defend itself till Hamas backs off. The State of California has been suffering from serious economic problems. The Governator is struggling to find a way to get rid of the debt...even trying to force workers to take unpaid days off (they get a vaca and the gov't saves $) :p Folks aren't liking this plan too much. What was the best-selling book of this year?!? The Bible...duh! It wins every year! If you plan on going to China and seeing Batman: The Dark Knight you're s.o.l. China has banned the movie. Jennifer Aniston's new movie Marley and Me beat out her ex Brad Pitt's new movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button...revenge is sweet. I have not seen Marley, but I can and will highly recommend Benjamin. Legendary actress/singer Eartha Kitt, most famous for being Catwoman died at the age of 81 from colon cancer. Beyonce's Single Ladies video has brought T-Time many videos of the week, but this is by far the best! Enjoy!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! 2009 is only 1 day away! All is right with the world! I hope you break all your resolutions...eat a lot of bad food and waste all your money...I double dog dare you :p

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of December 9-15th 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

Celebrihood:

Britney's new album, Circus, debuted at #1. Her insanely packed promotional tour paid off. Now let's see if she can stay sane! If you live in Cali or Tennessee then buckle up...tween sensation Miley Cyrus got her driver's permit. Unfortunately the star didn't get the car of her dreams and has to settle with her mom's old Porsche...woe is her. Beyonce has announced that she will go on tour for her new album I Am...Sasha Fierce Ellen's CoverGirl ads have finally been released...and she's quite easy, breezy, beautiful, CoverGirl! Kanye West is trying to expand his horizons. He has announced that he would like to be a fashion intern for Louis Vuitton. Amy Poehler taped her final episode of SNL and gave a mini-goodbye to all her fans. Tom Cruise has been making the rounds promoting his new movie Valkyrie, and he's trying to do his best to seem normal, nice, and apologetic for his previous outbursts. Jennifer Aniston has also been busy promoting her new movie, Marley and Me, and proving that she's still hot. Just check out her spread in the new GQ Magazine.

Luckily Madonna has millions of dollars cause this past week her bank account saw $6 M come in and $76M leave! Madge sued and won $6 over leaked wedding pics from her nuptials to Guy Ritchie. A U.K. magazine printed the never before seen pics when their divorce news broke, and now the mag is probably seriously regretting it. But for all the good comes bad as well. Queen M and Guy finally reached a financial settlement, and Guy got $76M! The children's custody is still in the works, but at least Guy is set for life. For the sake of the kids the family will reportedly spend Christmas together across the pond.

Taylor Hanson, the middle Hanson brother, just welcomed his 4th child. They may have been "mmm bopping" through the 90s but now all the bros are busy procreating! Ricky Martin became a dad via a surrogate back in August, and now we finally get to see the super cute twin boys, Valentino and Matteo. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz have named Travis McCoy, lead singer of Gym Class Heroes, their baby's god father. But don't expect to see pics any time soon. Both parents said they're not all about selling Bronx's image. Usher and his wife Tameka welcomed their 2nd son, Naviyd Ely Raymond. Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber have also welcomed their 2nd son, Samuel Kai. Mariah Carey just cancelled her tour...adding more speculation to those pesky pregnancy rumors! Former Top Chef contestant Sam Talbot married his girlfriend Paola Guerrero, and designer Tommy Hilfiger finally married his long-time gf Dee Ocleppo.

Hopefully Amy Winehouse will get clean and in the process get better taste in men. Her soon-to-be ex-hubby, Blake Fielder-Civil reportedly is trying to extort money from the singer in exchange for not writing a tell-all book. Former Greys Anatomy star Kate Walsh and her hubby are splitting after only 3 months of marriage. I forgot about the joys of short-lived Hollywood marriages! Times are getting really tough for Michael Jackson. He already sold his Neverland Ranch, and now he's auctioning off personal items like his famous glittery white glove! So sad...truly an end to an era. And TLC's T-Boz is losing her home to foreclosure. If the rich can't keep their homes the who can?!?

Oprah has finally admitted to what everyone already knew. O has gained 40 lbs, now weighs in at 200 lbs and is quite ashamed of herself. She's hoping that the new year will bring her health and a smaller waist line. Toni Braxton just admitted to having a tumor removed from her breast. The singer decided to wait on the surgery till after her stint on Dancing With the Stars, but she now has a clean bill of health. Former child-star Macaulay Culkin just experienced a family tragedy. His older sister, Dakota, was killed after being hit by a car. Tara Reid has entered rehab after years of being a wasted mess on red carpets everywhere! Jennifer Hudson has backed out of taping her newest music video. It has only been 2 months since her mother, brother and nephew were brutally killed, and she just isn't ready to go back to work.

Yet again 2 more awards ceremonies have announced their nominations. This is T-Time's all-time favorite thing...red carpets and bad acceptance speeches...glory be! These are the 14th Annual Critics' Choice Awards nominees. The show will air January 8, 2009 on VH1. The 66th Annual Golden Globes will air January 11, 2009 on NBC . Here is the list of all the nominees! Actor Hugh Jackman has been named the host of next year's Oscars.

Political Playhouse:

Soon to be former Senator and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met with current Sec. of State Condoleezza Rice to get some inside tips for the job. It seems like Caroline Kennedy is seriously considering filling Clinton's Senate seat. She has expressed interest and has begun meeting with several NY gov't officials. And Senator and VP-elect Joe Biden just got a new German Shepard puppy.

President Bush made one last trip to Iraq but did not receive a warm welcome. An Iraqi journalist threw 2 shoes at the President in protest of what he calls the "occupation". Let's discuss the lack of Secret Service after the first shoe! The White House has just released the final Barney Cam (Barney being the Pres's dog)... and there are some big name guest stars in this last installment. Senator John McCain paid another visit to David Letterman, and things got bleepity bleep! Governor Sarah Palin's church in Wasilla, Alaska was burned down, and officials believe it was arson. Luckily no one was hurt.

President-elect Obama picked the right time to leave Illinois. His home-state is in he midst of a huge political scandal. Governor Rod Blagojevich has been charged with accepting bribes from other political officials, threatening officials, and worst of all trying to sell Obama's vacant Senate seat in exchange for things for himself and his wife. Many government officials are calling for Blago's impeachment. In protest to California's Proposition 8 and Arkansas's ban on gay adoption advocates in the gay community called for a "day without gays". Last Wednesday people were encouraged to call out "gay". The Big 3 automaker and the gov't are still fighting over the bailout. The more time passes the smaller the bailout amount gets...it's now down to ~$15B. They may come to a resolution this coming Wednesday.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! The state of Indiana has a case of the holiday blues. The state has just enacted some new rules for driver's licenses, and one of them is "no smiling". How sad...what about all of those super excited 17-year olds?!? Way to be a Debbie Downer Indiana! Rumor has it that there will be a remake of The Crow...hopefully this time no one will die on the set. One remake T-Time can't wait for?!? Melrose Place...the pilot is in the works! I don't know if any Desperate Housewives fans are left, but if you're one you'll be happy to know that there will be at least 2 more seasons of the ABC show. Why do shows like Housewives get picked up but Pushing Daises gets cancelled?!? Rolling Stone Magazine just released its list of the top 50 albums of the year. Check out if your faves made the list. Iconic 50s pin-up Bettie Page died at the age of 85 after suffering a heart attack and being in a coma. Keanu Reeves' new movie, The Day The Earth Stood Still has taken the #1 spot at the box office. If you enjoyed the video of the week with Beyonce's video dance-along, then you'll really enjoy this week's video of the week!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! Celebrities are reproducing, and Hanukkah/Chanukah is less than a week away! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of December 2-8 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

No Mas O.J....Better Get Your Vitamin C Somewhere Else:

Well it has finally happened…O.J. Simpson was punished for a crime he committed! The Juice has been sentenced to prison after attempting to retrieve memorabilia that was "rightfully his" with the aide of a few thugs and guns. Orenthal James Simpson could serve anywhere between 9 and 33 years behind bars! He was offered a plea deal but was too c*cky to accept. Sucker! Whatever happened to just calling and asking for your stuff back?!?

Britney's comeback is definitely accomplishing its goals. Her new album is expected to sell big, she has been busy making appearances everywhere, and she just announced that she's going back out on tour. But all the momentum shouldn't be credited to her blood, sweat and tears. Her documentary was lackluster (she didn't answer the really juicy questions, and the ratings were pretty low), she has lip synched (and poorly at that) every performance, and she barely answers questions during interviews. I don't know if this Spears 2.0 is ready for all of this again :p And don't forget that the past will always come back to haunt you! Brit Brit's first husband (the one who only lasted 55 hours), Jason Alexander, landed his butt in jail for violating his parole. She sure knows how to pick 'em!

Not surprising at all...Oprah was just named the most powerful woman in entertainment. I think she should just own the title...I doubt there's anyone who could actually take that away from her! The Jolie-Pitts proved their perfection yet again. They just donated $100,000 to their foundation, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. And the cherry on their perfect sundae? Jolie was just named the highest paid actress in Hollywood ahead of Reese Witherspoon and Julia Roberts!

I'm not sure if anyone really cares, but if you do…Lindsay Lohan and her girlfriend Samantha Ronson have not split. At least not according to Lohan's MySpace blog. Amy Winehouse is apparently getting divorced from her incarcerated druggie husband. The damage has been done…hopefully she'll clean herself up and keep on singing. Actors Dylan McDermott and Shiva Rose have finalized their divorce. And Katie Holmes ex, Chris Klein has split from his actress girlfriend and Holmes lookalike, Ginnifer Goodwin. America's Next Top Model judge Nigel Barker and his wife Christen have just welcomed their 2nd child, daughter Jasmine Ines. Anne Heche and the man she left her husband for are expecting their 1st child together. I guess she's officially no longer a lesbian!

TV Time...excellent! NBC is doing a little reshuffling of its late night schedule. As many of you may know Conan O'Brien was going to take over for Jay Leno on the Tonight Show and SNL alum Jimmy Fallon was going to take over for Conan on Late Night. Most of the drama was over what Leno would do. Well now it looks like Leno is staying but getting his own show at 10 p.m., and then he'll be followed by O'Brien and Fallon respectively. That sounds like one funny lineup! For now you can check out Fallon's video blog...it's supposed to introduce the audience to the soon-to-be new host. For all you Gossip Girl fans...talks about a spinoff are reaching fever pitch. Most people are betting that the Jenny Humphrey character will be getting her own show! And if you just D.I.E. for Rachel Zoe you'll be happy to hear that her show is coming back to Bravo for a 2nd season.

Hugh Hefner's daughter, Christie Hefner, has stepped down as Playboy's Chairman and CEO. That's quite the family business to get into! Maybe one of the girls next door can fill her spot?!? Rumors are swirling whether Vogue's editor in chief and inspiration for Devil Wears Prada, Anna Wintour, is leaving the fashion mag. Insiders say 'yes', but she's denying. Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski is asking the U.S. gov't to drop rape charges stemming from 20 years ago when he was accused of sleeping with a 13-year old girl. Instead of facing punishment he fled for Europe and has yet to step foot back in the U.S. Why are all the talented ones so messed up (cough cough Woody Allen)? And speaking of oldies but goodies…Cher announced that she will release a new album of 60s covers.

Aside from all the family quality time and presents, the best part of the holiday season is all about the upcoming awards season. Now's the time when all the nominations are announced! The Grammys announced their list for the best in music. Lil' Wayne and Coldplay got the most love, but you can check out all the other nominees. And the IFC Spirit Award nominations have also been named. And just for fun, here's the NYPost's list of 2008's top 10 worst movies!

The NY Times Magazine has compiled a great list of some actors, artists, etc giving "screen tests"/intimate interviews. Really fun for all you celebrity-obsessed folks.

The Office of President-elect Barack Obama:

The seemingly perfect President-elect has an Achilles heel…he's still struggling with quitting smoking. During an interview with Tom Brokaw, on MSNBC's Meet the Press, Barack admitted that he sometimes still falls off the wagon but will do his best to not smoke in the White House. Fun fact…former First Lady and current Sec. of State pick Hillary Clinton banned smoking in the White House during her tenure. All you fashionistas can breathe easy because Obama already has his tux in the works for Inauguration Day. Chicago-based designer Hart Schaffner Marx, who made all of Obama's suits during the campaign, will be making a brand-new one for the big day. And Obama's former campaign manager, David Plouffe, will be writing a book about the soon-to-be Prez and the almost perfect campaign tentatively entitled The Audacity to Win, a play on Obama's best-selling The Audacity of Hope.

New Mexico governor and former Democratic presidential candidate Bill Richardson has officially been named as Obama's pick for Secretary of Commerce. So now that Clinton is joining the Obama administration the big question is who will fill her NY Senate seat. The most talked about candidate so far has been none other than Caroline Kennedy, daughter of JFK and niece of Senator Ted Kennedy. I doubt she'll take it, but it would be interesting if she did! And what better way to celebrate Hillary's big move than with an Amy Poehler/SNL skit!

The Georgia Senate race is finally over. Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss defeated Democratic candidate Jim Martin in the runoff election. Now we're still waiting for Minnesota to pick their Senator!

The Big 3 automakers are still begging the gov't for a bailout. The trillions has gone down to billions and now it's down to millions. Maybe if they hadn't arrived in separate private jets the people would genuinely feel bad for them. But at least they're learning a lesson. For the 2nd round of hearings/begging all 3 CEOs arrived in cars, and GM and Ford are now selling their corporate jets. Let's see how much of the taxpayers' good money they'll get their greedy hands on!

A new host for MSNBC's Meet the Press has finally been named. The show has been temporarily hosted by Tom Brokaw since the untimely death of Tim Russert. But now it's official…David Gregory will be the new host of the longest running show on television. And in case the show is too intense for you…you can check all the useless news that doesn't really matter here.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! If you use Facebook watch out for a virus called Koobface spreading through the network. It will send you a message "from" a friend, send you to another site, and then make you download a program. Don't do it! Amsterdam is doing the unthinkable. The gov't is closing down many of their "cafes" and parts of their Red Light District in order to fight organized crime. Their crime levels may go down but so will tourism! 99.9% of people who go to Amsterdam do so for 2 reasons...pot and legal sex...just saying! Olympian Michael Phelps has been named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. It's the first time a swimmer has been given this honor. One athlete not getting too many honors is Giants star Plaxico Burress who accidentally shot himself in the leg at a club 2 weeks ago, and now he has been benched for the season. To prove how many loopholes there are in our system a newspaper temporarily stole the Empire State building. The Daily News filled out paperwork with fake information and for a hot 90-minutes or so they actually owned the iconic building! Kind of scary…makes you think! The picturesque Italian city of Venice has been ravaged by flooding (the worse in 20 years)…the city was submerged for a few days. But the water has finally subsided! A study at Northwestern University has released a report stating that homosexuality is an "inborn combination of genetic and environmental factors". If you like the NY Times and/or coffee…you'll appreciate this little bit of art. Burger King's new campaign, Whopper Virgin, is taking a new approach to the famous "taste test". Representatives went to remote villages around the world and asked locals who have never tasted, seen, or even heard of hamburgers to try both a Whopper and Big Mac and choose. The result is really interesting…so here's your video of the week.

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! The tree at Rockefeller Center has been lit and Ben Stiller has hinted at a possible Zoolander 2! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of November 25th-December 1st 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

It's Britney's World, and We're All Just Living In It:

It's Britney b*tch, and she's taking over the world. The pop star may not want to call it a comeback, but it's shaping up to be one (as long as she doesn't fall into crazy mode again). Tuesday, December 2nd is a big day for Ms. Spears: She is turning the big 2-7 and is also dropping her new album, Circus. She's been keeping busy promoting her not-comeback by appearing on the covers of Rolling Stone and Glamour, and performing shows throughout Europe. And Brit Brit's big documentary, Britney: For the Record aired last night on MTV. If you missed you can try to YouTube or catch it while MTV loops it indefinitely!

I received some comments regarding my lack of acknowledging the new Guns N' Roses album, Chinese Democracy. I did not accidentally forget this, I just actively chose to ignore it. Reviews of the long-awaited album (it was 13 years in the making) have been mixed, sales have been poor (the Killers outsold them), Axl is the only remaining original member left, and I didn't want to tarnish the awesome reputation of a band that gave us "Welcome to the Kingdom" and "Knockin' on Heaven's Door". So now you know...they have a new album. And Dr. Pepper promised a free soda for anyone who bought the album but failed to deliver. All together very disappointing. But don't worry...Blender Magazine came out with its list of 2008's top albums.

Project Runway's favorite offspring, Christan Siriano will be designing a line of shoes and purses for Payless. Woohoo...fierce fashions for less! Brooke Burke, former E! Wild On host, just won this season's Dancing With the Stars. Not only did she show some little know dance skills, but proved that she made a pact with the devil (no one after 4 kids looks that good)! Speaking of baby-making...Mariah Carey may be pregnant. She adamantly denies it, but during a taping of the Ellen show the diva refused (and then faked) a sip of champagne. That Ellen sure is super tricky trying to get the truth out of Mariah...we'll see if any announcements are made! Former TRL host Carson Daly and girlfriend, Siri Pinter, are expecting their first child.

Rosie O'Donnell's variety show came and went. The ratings were so low that only 1 episode aired, and the show was cancelled. I guess people finally see the truth...that Rosie is one angry and mean woman!

Jennifer Hudson's, ex-brother-in-law, William Balfour, has officially been charged with the murder of her mother, sister and nephew. Tina Fey has finally spoken out about the large scar on her cheek. Although she won't get into specifics she admitted that when she was 5 years old she was playing outside and a neighbor with a knife just came up and slashed her face (in the moment she thought she was just marked with a pen). Pretty scary stuff :p Amy Winehouse's soon-to-be ex-husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, just admitted during an interview that he's the reason the singer became addicted to cocaine and heroine. Before meeting him, Amy apparently only smoked pot but fell heavily into drug use after trying some of his cocaine. Good job Blake...way to ruin a potentially historic talent!

I am a DVR junkie, and I am proud of it. Here are my recommendations for you to record: Wednesday, Dec. 3rd the Victoria's Secret "fashion" show at 10 p.m. EST on CBS and Thursday, Dec. 4th Barbara Walters' '10 Most Fascinating People' at 10 p.m. EST on ABC. I also heart a great commercial and the new Adidas commercial just kills it. See if you can spot all the big names!

The Office of President-elect Barack Obama:

President-elect Barack Obama and his wife Michelle gave another exclusive interview, this time to Barbara Walters. Obama announced his foreign policy team and also officially announced a big chunk of his cabinet picks. Chief of staff-Rahm Emmanuel, Senior advisers-David Axelrod and Valerie Jarrett, Press Secretary-Robert Gibbs, Office of Management and Budget: Peter Orszag, UN Ambassador: Susan Rice, Secretary of State-Hillary Clinton, Defense Secretary: Robert Gates, National Security Adviser: James Jones, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Attorney General-Eric Holder, and Secretary of Homeland Security-Janet Napolitano.

President George W. Bush performed one of his final presidential duties by granting pardons to 14 people. President Bush has pardoned significantly fewer people than past presidents. Some of his pardons were to convicted drug sellers, rappers, embezzlers, and even a bald eagle killer, but no real high-profile criminals. First Lady, Laura Bush , has confirmed that she will be writing a memoir.

According to the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) the U.S. is officially in a recession. Thanks for pointing out the obvious, geniuses! The economic hard times are affecting everyone...even celebrities. General Motors ended their 9-year endorsement deal with Tiger Woods in order to save money. What will Tiger do now? He does have a family to take care of!

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! December 1st marks World AIDS Day. You can see how people around the world acknowledged the day. Mumbai, India suffered its deadliest terrorist attack in 15 years. A gang of terrorists, trained in nearby Pakistan, took over the Taj Hotel, Oberoi Hotel, and a newly settled Chabad House, and specifically targeted people with U.S. and British passports. This attack claimed the lives of over 170 people. In respect of this tragedy, the Live Earth India concert has been cancelled. Remember the Jim Carrey movie, The Truman Show? Well now doctors are starting to diagnose patients with "Truman Syndrome" where people believe their lives are being taped for reality TV. If this is a legit disease then half of Hollywood is seriously ill! Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaugh's x-mas movie, 4 Christmases, came in #1 at the box office kicking the tween sensation Twilight back to 2nd place. A Miami judge ruled against a ban on gay adoption stating that it was unconstitutional. For all you Batman fans...Bruce Wayne dies. Yeah I said it. He dies in the latest comic book issue, and Robin will most likely take over. Didn't see that one coming, huh?!? Broadway may be suffering from slumping ticket sales, but at least it still cares about the environment. The Great White Way is going green by using new, environmentally friendly bulbs and recycled items for the stages. For some people the best part of Thanksgiving is the food and for others it is the huge sales day on the following Friday, called Black Friday. Unfortunately people didn't spend as much as expected...hello recession. But the worst news comes from Long Island where a mob of people took it too far and trampled a WalMart employee to death in order to get into the store quickly! As you may know I'm a huge fan of Beyonce's video for "Single Ladies"...well your video of the week takes it to a whole other level!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up...it's not so bad! Britney's back, and Turkey Day has passed...only 21 days till Hanukkah and 24 days till Christmas. All is right with the world!
Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of November 18th-24th 2008

Madonna and Guy Ritchie's divorce began and was settled as quickly as most Hollywood marriages. It was quick and somewhat painless, and Guy came away with $70M plus a house and his pub. Obviously Madge likes to bury herself in her work when he's going through traumatic personal issues, and now she's going to be the new face of Louis Vuitton's 2009 campaign. Paris Hilton and Benji Madden have split after a long 9 months together. Shocker...I know. Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil have apparently split. So severe drug problems, an arrest and jail sentence didn't split them. But a Swedish/German model is the absolute last straw! Jodie Sweetin, a.k.a. Stephanie Tanner, is splitting from her hubby of 16 months. Now that she's coming out with a book she must think she's all-that again :p

No one thought they would see the day, but Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary. And sadly they've yet to see any more normal. Kelly Osbourne, Ozzy and Sharon's middle child, is engaged to her bf Luke Worrall. My Name is Earl and more importantly Mallrats star Jason Lee has just admitted to getting married to Ceren Alkac, the mother of his 2nd child, back in July. And Hills stars Heidi and Spencer have eloped in Mexico last week (Nov. 20th)...I honestly think this could last. They're so sad they need one another.

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz welcomed their first child, a son name Bronx Mowgli. Bronx I can stomach, but don't they get it that this child has to live with Mowgli for the rest of his life?!? Tobey Maguire and wifey Jen Meyer are expecting their 2nd child.

Ms.Britney Spears is all over the place promoting her upcoming new album. On Sunday, Nov. 30th MTV will air Britney: For the Record and "tell-all" doc-style special where Ms. Spears opens up about EVERYTHING. Clueless star, Alicia Silverstone, is coming out with a vegan diet book called The Kind Diet. Oprah is known for many wonderful things, but most of her die-hard fans are obsessed with her annual Favorite Things show where she names all her favorite things and then gives everything to the audience. Well in light of economic crisis the Big O's favorite things are all going to be free or very cheap...probably something like hugging a loved one (yuck)! I want a free car!!!!!!!

Michael Jackson is also busy making headlines (impressive considering) he hasn't put out any new material in years! The King of Pop was being sued by Arab Sheikh Al Khalif because for accepting millions of $s and not producing any work . The case has been settled out of court. I guess he was to busy converting to Islam to concentrate on work. You can now call him Mikaeel.

With the holidays fast approaching many magazines and organizations are busy compiling useless lists that junkies like T-Time feed on. Forbes magazine came out with the '10 Hottest Celebrity Tots'...Suri Cruise came out on top, 'Hollywood's Most Overexposed Celebs'...with Paris Hilton taking top honors, and 'Hollywood's Top-Earning Couples' that Beyonce and Jay Z rocked. People magazine has come out with its annual 'Sexiest Man Alive' issue...Hugh Jackman ruled this year. If that's not enough hot men for you then you can check out GQ's Men of the Year. And Entertainment Weekly released it's '10 Breakout Stars of 2008'.

Jennifer Garner has put a court order out against a stalker. The man has been stalking her for years and has even at her home. Winona Ryder had a scary moment while flying to London. The plane had to perform an emergency landing after the actress OD'd on Xanax. She was rushed to a hospital, had her stomach pumped, and was up and running at an awards ceremony later on. She apparently takes the meds to calm herself during flights. Travis Barker is suing over his plane crash claiming the accident wouldn't have happened if the company had taken proper care of their plane.

Politichood:

President-elect Barack Obama has been keeping busy building his administration. So far...confirmed positions: Chief of staff-Rahm Emmanuel, Counsel-Greg Craig, Senior adviser-David Axelrod, Senior adviser-Valerie Jarrett, White House press secretary-Robert Gibbs, Vice-Presidents chief of staff-Ron Klain; not yet confirmed but vetted: Secretary of State-Hillary Clinton, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Secretary of Health-Tom Daschle, Attorney General-Eric Holder, Secretary of Homeland Security-Janet Napolitano, Commerce Secretary- Bill Richardson. The Obamas have also been busy choosing a school for their 2 young daughters. They have decided that the girls will be attending the prestigious Sidwell Friends School, the same school former first kid Chelsea Clinton attended.

Arizona Senator John McCain is not letting his presidential bid loss take him down. He is planning to run for his 5th term in 2010. Two state senate elections were still going on long after Election Day, but now Alaska has finally picked a winner (Minnesota is still counting ballots). Democratic senate candidate Mark Begich beat Republican Senator Ted Stevens (who was in office for 40 years). Stevens was convicted federal corruption last month and was fighting an uphill battle to keep his seat. Minnesota is embroiled in a crazy recount. No hanging chads, but still tons of questions.

Former NY governor Eliot Spitzer's escort, Ashley Dupre, told "all" to Diane Sawyer on 20/20. You can check out Part 1 and Part 2 of the interview. You almost start to feel bad for the pretty and popular girl from NJ who had a nice family that didn't abandon or abuse her...almost.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! The word 'meh' [expression of indifference or boredom] has been added to the Collins English Dictionary. One thing not to be meh about? No Doubt has announced, on their site, that they will be going back on tour! Woohoo! For all you Trekkies here is the trailer for the highly anticipated Star Trek movie. Yahoo CEO, Jerry Yang, has resigned so watch out for a Microsoft buyout! The government bailout drama continues. The big 3 automakers' (Ford, GM, and Chrysler) CEOs arrived in D.C. separately via their private jets to beg for taxpayer money..that didn't go over to well with the American public, but Citigroup was just bailed out by the government. If you thought pirates were only fictional characters from Peter Pan and Pirates of the Caribbean you've obviously never been hijacked by a band of Somali pirates! These attacks have severely increased in the past year, and right now the pirates are holding a Saudi tanker for $15M ransom! We now know what caused those wildfires that devastated huge portions of Southern California...they were started by a group of college kids who never properly put out a bonfire. Yet another tragedy has hit TVs across the country. One of T-Time's favorite shows, Pushing Daisies, has been cancelled. But Lipstick Jungle has been given a life raft with a 4 episode extension...let's see if they can get their ratings up! Kathy Griffin's My Life on the D List, is coming back for Season 5 and will still be on Bravo. What says holiday season more than those red Salvation Army buckets with volunteers ringing bells and asking for donations? Well now you don't have to feel guilty about not having spare change, the buckets have gone high-tech and are accepting credit cards! A Judge has ordered that 5 Guantanamo Bay detainees be released after 7 years in prison because there was sufficient evidence to keep them there. The tween sensation Twilight has proven the buying power of teens and their parents...the movie brought in over $70 in its opening weekend and already has a sequel in the works. Bond's Quantum of Solace kept it strong in 2nd place (T-Time saw it and highly recommends it!). Ever wonder what Justin Timberlake would look like in a black bodysuit and heels dancing backup for Beyonce?!? Here's your video of the week.

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up...it's not so bad! Thanksgiving is only 3 days away, and President Bush will pardon one lucky turkey to be free this year! All is right with the world!

Now go eat some turkey and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of November 11th-17th 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

*Thank you to all who came out to celebrate T-Time's 1 Year Anniversary! It was super fun, and it meant so much to see all of your smiling, supportive faces! This new year will hopefully bring a bunch of bigger and better changes to T-Time so be on the lookout and spread the word!!!

The Celeb Go-Around:

Heather Locklear has officially been charged with a DUI stemming from her arrest in September for driving erratically and being under the influence of some substance. Justin Timberlake is being sued, well his NYC eatery Southern Hospitality is, because of one of the staff members claims he got cheated out of a legal salary and tips. I foresee some settling out of court business. Kanye West was arrested again, this time in London, for attacking a paparazzo. You would think he learned his lesson from the first arrest! Paula Abdul had a scary fan moment. A super obsessed fan/stalker, Paula Goodspeed, was found dead in her car outside of Abdul's house from an apparent drug overdose. And Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch has been sold. Oh if those walls could talk!

Jennifer Aniston is normally very private about her personal life, but in a slew of recent interviews, most notably Vogue, Aniston has had diarrhea of the mouth. She admitted that she has hurt feelings over the Angelina/Brad thing, she wishes Brad all the best, she is actually very "lucky in love" (despite all the failed relationships), she is dating John Mayer, she did date Vince Vaughn, etc. Speaking of Angelina...the actress is so content with her family that she doesn't see herself acting for too much longer. She admitted that after this year she's going to "fade away" and just be with her family. Funnyman Adam Sandler and his wife Jackie quietly welcomed a 2nd daughter into the world...Sunny Madeline. And Nicole Kidman showed the first picture of her daughter, Sunday Rose, while on Oprah.

Due to the trying financial times, celebs, especially the ones who aren't working as much, are keeping busy with side jobs and new projects. Both Sarah Silverman and Jodie Sweetin (a.k.a. Stephanie Tanner from Full House) have book deals in the works. Hillary Duff is in talks to get her own show on the Peacock Network. And Rosie O'Donnell's new variety show, Rosie Live will air November 26th on NBC as well. Don't be shocked if you hear a knock at your door and the singer Prince is standing there. In a recent interview he admitted that as a Jehovah's Witness he too walks door to door spreading the good word. Charlize Theron is also spreading some positive vibes...she was just named a UN Messenger of Peace.

Barbara Walters has announced 9 of the 10 people on her list for her yearly special, 10 Most Fascinating People, which will air on December 4th on ABC. Some of the famous names on the list are Will Smith, Tina Fey, Tom Cruise, Miley Cyrus, Michael Phelps, and more. Walters always keeps the #1 person a secret till the show airs.

Political Round-Up:

President-elect Barack Obama gave his first post-win interview to 60 Minutes where he discussed what he's been up to, future plans, and how the family is transitioning. Want to see the 44th and first black President of the United States on Inauguration Day, January 20th? Just shell out ~$30K on EBay and the tickets are all yours (they're supposed to be free…d*mn those scalpers)! Lindsay Lohan proved that skipping higher education for a Hollywood career does not a mind do well. During an interview on Access Hollywood the actress called Obama our "first colored president". President-elect Obama is slowly putting his team together and is using a lot of former Clinton staff like Obama's lawyer, Gregory P. Craig, who was former President Clinton's impeachment lawyer, former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright who stood in for Obama during the G20 summit, and Vice President-elect Joe Biden has also picked his Chief of Staff…Ron Klain (former VP Al Gore's chief of staff). Déjà vu anyone? Speaking of the Clintons, rumors are flying that Senator Hillary Clinton is up for the position of Secretary of State in Obama's administration. Clinton has met with Obama, but no details of what was discussed have been released.

Want to know what code names the Secret Service will be calling the First Family? President-elect Obama - Renegade, Michelle Obama - Renaissance, Malia - Radiance, and Sasha - Rosebud, Vice President-elect Biden - Celtic, and Jill Biden - Capri. Not sure why this is public knowledge, but it is so now you know!

Senator John McCain made his first public appearance since losing the presidential election, and honored Veteran's Day on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. McCain's former running mate, Governor Sarah Palin, has been making her rounds at GOP functions trying to rally the troops. She hasn't admitted to anything definite, but there is speculation that she may run for one of Alaska's Senate seats. Senator Ted Kennedy, the Lion of the Senate, has returned to work after surgery on a malignant brain tumor.

President Bush gathered leaders from 20 nations at the White House for the G20 Summit to discuss the world's economic crisis. Proposition 8 continues to be a huge issue in California. At a gay rights rally comedian Wanda Sykes decided to come out as a lesbian and admitted to getting married to her wife back in October. While in Connecticut gay marriages have begun.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! The pregnant man, the woman who became a man but kept her reproductive organs and had a baby with her/his wife, is pregnant again! I bet you never thought you'd hear a story like that once in your life, and now it's happening again! The Victoria's Secret models stomped on the runway in as little clothing as possible for their annual fashion show. Don't worry you didn't miss it! It will air on Dec. 3rd on CBS. A new report shows that Burlington, Vermont is considered the healthiest city in the U.S. while Huntington, West Virginia is the unhealthiest! The drama over the $700B bailout has slightly moved away from the banks and is now all about the automobile industry (the big 3: Ford, GM and Chrysler). Do we give them the money despite their inability and lack of desire to change their bad company ways?!? No one seems to have an answer! The new James Bond movie Quantum of Solace was #1 in the box office and brought in over $70M. For all of you Hills junkies get ready to scream with joy...the "cast" has agreed to do a 5th season. United Airlines is taking "extra fees" to a whole other lever! They will now charge you $25 to book your flights with a human being over the phone. If you want to avoid the charge you must book online. These people are criminals...how can they get away this crap?!? Southern California is being ravaged by wildfires yet again. Celebs like Oprah and Rob Lowe all have homes in the area and had to evacuate. Back to the Future's Doc, Christopher Lloyd, lost his home. Is Lipstick Jungle cancelled or not? That is the question. According to everyone, but the show's stars, the show is over. And if you're into checking out some new music listen to Joey Salvia. With the year coming to an end it can only mean one thing...awards season! Both the Country Music Awards (CMAs) and the Latin Grammy Awards already happened. Total Request Live (TRL) aired its final show this past Saturday. In honor of 10 years of musical history a lot of big name musicians came back to the MTV studios to remember all the good, fun and crazy times! With the departure of Tina Fey and Amy Poehler SNL is welcoming 2 new female cast members; Abby Elliott and Michaela Watkins. Hopefully you're SNL fans cause MadTV has been cancelled after 14 seasons. Always wanted to see your favorite celebs randomly paired, forced to wear GAP clothes and sing Christmas jingles?!? Now here's your chance!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! Thanksgiving is only 10 days away, and Stephanie Tanner is writing a tell-all book! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of November 4th-10th 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

*My apologies for canceling T-Time's 1 Year Anniversary Party...even bloggers get sick! But the party has been rescheduled for this coming Saturday so please make sure to check for your Evites/Facebook invites and RSVP!

Love Makes Hollywood Go Round:

Anne Hathaway has found new love after her crash & burn relationship with ex-boyfriend and convicted felon Raffaelo Follieri. She's apparently seeing actor Adam Shulman. Kendra Wilkinson, Hugh Hefner's ex-GF #3, is now engaged to Philadelphia Eagles star Hank Baskett. Lindsay Lohan is still spending a whole lot of quality time with DJ Samantha Ronson but has yet to come out of the closet. In a recent Harper's Bazaar interview she sort of admits to being bisexual, but she emphatically denies being a lesbian. Exclusive T-Time info!!! I have heard, from a very reliable source, that Lenny Kravitz will be marrying a Russian girl named Katya. They met in St. Petersburg a year ago and are planning to make it official in a few months! My source was at a house party in Russia and personally spoke to the future Mrs. Kravitz. Trust me…you heard it hear first!

Rarely celeb couples don't work out :p Jaime Pressly and her baby-daddy/fiancé, Eric Cubiche, have split up after 4 years together and a baby boy. Evan Rachel Wood (age 21) and fiancé Marilyn Manson (age 39) have split up. Rumor has it she's sleeping with her former co-star Mickey Rourke (age 56). Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams have split for the 2nd time. Why can't these kids just make it work? If you've seen The Notebook you know they belong together!!!! Guy Ritchie is not seeing one of the stars of his new movie Sherlock Holmes unlike previously rumored. Actress Kelly ReilIy is apparently engaged and has never been in a relationship with the future ex-Mr. Madonna. I personally hate when tabloids assume that couples are breaking up cause they're not seen together or aren't wearing their wedding rings, but I'm about to make the same assertion. I have not seen a single photo of Christina Aguilera wearing her wedding ring in a very long time (she used to always have it on). Now I'm not saying that she and her hubby are headed for splitsville, but I am making my first public T-Time prediction. Let's see what happens in the next few months…I hope to be proved wrong.

Madonna has achieved the unachievable. She got Britney and Justin on the same stage on the same night! Madge was performing in L.A. so all the stars came out. Britney (looking great) joined her to sing Human Nature and, JT came out to sing 4 Minutes. Although the ex-lovers didn't meet on stage, they apparently shared pleasantries backstage. Madonna could part the seas if she wanted to.

Charlize Theron settled her $20M lawsuit with watchmaker Raymond Weil. Now maybe she'll think twice before agreeing to wear one company's items and then wearing another one! After several cancelled shows, Janet Jackson has officially cancelled the rest of her Rock Witchu tour due to scheduling conflicts. Strange…usually scheduling conflicts are taken care of before a huge tour is planned. Former porn star Jenna Jameson has filed legal papers to make her stage name official (she was born Jenna Marie Massoli.) William Balfour, the person of interest in the murders of Jennifer Hudson's mother, brother and nephew, is still in jail.

President-elect Barack Obama:

Well it's officially done! Illinois Senator Barack Obama won the election and is the new President-elect and soon-to-be 44th President of the United States. Microsoft Word will now officially have to recognize his name as correctly spelled :p Here's what he had to say upon the historic moment. The biggest news to come out of that speech is what kind of puppy his little girls are gonna get. According to Obama it has to be hypoallergenic and preferably from a shelter. But Obama hasn't been wasting his time…he's already chosen his Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel (Illinois Democratic member of the House of Reps). Fun Hollywood connection: Rahm himself is the inspiration for the West Wing character Josh Lyman, and Rahm's brother, Ari, is the inspiration for Entourage's Ari Gold. Wondering what all those enthusiastic Obama fans are doing now? See the sad footage here. And no surprise here, but Barack has become one of the most popular new baby names!

Senator John McCain gave a very gracious concession speech. He gave a good fight, but alas the Obama campaign was too strong and perfect. Now that the campaign is over some of McCain campaign workers are speaking out about Governor Sarah Palin (bad temper, refusal to work with campaign managers, dumb, etc). Palin has fought back calling these people cowards. I think someone is bitter about losing. And Tina Fey has officially retired her Palin impersonation.

Former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer can thank his lucky stars. He will not face criminal charges stemming from his prostitution bust. Investigators found no proof that he used campaign funds to satiate his needs.

This election day wasn't just about new presidents and state reps, but the states themselves were passing many laws and bills. The State of California made gay marriage legal back in May, but this past election day Proposition 8 was passed rebanning gay marriage. So now it's no longer legal. There are a whole lot of angry LGBTs running around. The State of Michigan has legalized the use of medical marijuana. And the State of Washington has legalized assisted suicide. I know where Dr. K is moving!

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! AC/DC's new album is #1…impressive considering the band has been around since the 70s. Speaking of oldies but goodies…MJ's Thriller is coming to Broadway! Kim Cattral admitted that there will be Sex and the City sequel!!! According to Sarah Jessica Parker negotiations are still in the works, but I totally believe it's gonna happen. The new James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace is premiering in the U.S. this Friday, November 14th. Although it's expected to make millions of $s, the movie Twilight based on the tween book sensation is outselling it on Fandango! If award shows are your thing...the nominees for the People's Choice Awards were just announced. And Happy Birthday to Tema...T-Time loves ya!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! The T-Time party is back up and running! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of October 28th-November 3rd 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

*Don't forget: T-Time will be celebrating its 1 year anniversary this coming Saturday, November 8th at 10 p.m…. so please respond to the Evite and/or Facebook invite and mark your calendars!

Working Hard for Their Money:

The celebs are working hard for their money these days. The recession is hitting everyone! Ms. Spears is back in the news but for actually good reasons. If you want to see how she got her body back you can watch her workout video. She also released her new album cover and single. The main reason Britney got herself back on track was her dad becoming her conservator. Well a Judge just granted him permanent conservatorship over his daughter and her finances...so expect a full comeback! Christina Aguilera also released her new single with a new video that's so-so. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have been keeping busy as well. They just came out with a coffee table book called Influence where they interviewed creative people that inspire them. If you feel like shelling out $35 you too may become enlightened. Former Gucci creative director Tom Ford is putting the finishing touches on his directorial debut A Single Man. The designer always expressed his desire to direct, and he's finally done it. Let's hope it's as good as his designs! Possibly inspired by her husband or possibly just by cold, hard cash Victoria, Posh Spice, Beckham has signed on to be the new model for Giorgio Armani underwear. Be on the lookout for half-naked billboards in a city near you. Jessica Simpson isn't having as much luck resurrecting her career. Her film Major Movie Star is #1...in RUSSIA! Poor thing can't seem to catch a break these days. At a recent red carpet event, Joaquin Phoenix announced that he's retiring from acting to pursue music full-time. Don't freak out yet! Despite it being a loss to the business (he is super talented) people are worried that he's not in the clearest mental state (cough cough...drugs & alcohol) and just making rash decisions and random statements.

Gwen Stefani has finally debuted her super cute new baby, Zuma! Supermodel Niki Taylor is pregnant with her 3rd child (she has 13 year-old twins from her first marriage); husband is NASCAR driver Burney Lamar. Rapper Nelly finally admitted to being in a relationship with singer Ashanti...albeit 5 years too late. I know I keep saying it, but the Girls Next Door are officially moving out of the Playboy Mansion. Bridget (GF #2) confirmed it during an interview. Don't be too sad for them. Holly Madison (former GF #1) and illusionist Criss Angel finally admitted to their relationship...they were kissing and holding hands on the red carpet at the opening of his new Las Vegas show. Madonna's divorce from Guy Ritchie is slowly getting uglier by the day since it's mostly focused on money and the children's custody. Details about her apparent strict parenting and his apparent gold-digging ways are flying all over the place. Her sources say he was verbally and even sometimes physically abusive, and his sources say she was controlling and cold. But it seems like M is taking solace in her romance with Yankees' star Alex Rodriguez...rumor has it that the 2 spent some quiet alone time in Jerry Seinfeld's Hamptons house (who even knew that Madonna and Jerry were friends?!?). American Idol judge Simon Cowell and girlfriend Terri Seymor have split after 6 years together over her wanting a baby and him not. Another relationship that has bit the dust? Bachelorette star Deanna Pappas ended her engagement with Jesse Csincsak. Why can't they all be like Trista and Ryan?!?

Jennifer Hudson's family held a private memorial for her late mother, brother and nephew, and the 3 of have been laid to rest. The murder weapon, a gun, was found, and William Balfour is still in police custody and the primary suspect.

1 Day and Counting…Can't Come Soon Enough!:

Thank [insert anyone/thing you worship] that this presidential campaign is almost over! Both candidates are going full steam ahead! Senator Barack Obama's campaign is trying to promote "Take Election Day Off and Vote". Hey if you can do it, then take off from work/school, vote and relax while watching the results. If not, then just ask to leave at lunch or early to make sure you get those fancy "I Voted Stickers". Obama also took out a 30-minute ad that aired on the 3 major networks and cost ~$40M and had ~33.7M viewers. Obama is dealing with another controversial connection…this time with Palestinian scholar and activist Rashid Khalidi (an issue considering that Obama claims to be pro-Israel). The LA Times is refusing to release a tape of a party which shows Obama praising Khalidi. And apparently the Senator is quite the tardy one. What will Obama be doing election day? His ritual is to play basketball! Unfortunately Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Lee Payne Dunham, died at the age 86 after long battle with cancer. Luckily he took time out of campaigning to visit her in Hawaii just a few days ago. She helped raise him and was one of his biggest support systems.

Senator John McCain decided to not be outshone by his running partner, Governor Sarah Palin, so he made his own SNL appearance! He also stopped by SNL's Weekend Update! And what will McCain be doing on election day? His ritual is to go to a movie and then get some Mexican food. Palin may have brought in more viewers with her stint at SNL, but she did fall prey to quite the prank call when she thought she was on a phone call with French President Nicolas Sarkozy. And with 1 day to go Palin has yet to release her medical records...what's up with the delay?

Celebs have come out again to remind you to NOT VOTE :P And if celebs don't do it for you then maybe these young, school rapping debaters will! NASA astronauts in space have even cast their votes! Don't be left out. Tuesday, November 4th is ELECTION DAY! Please take the time out of your day to vote at your local voting station. It's beyond a super important decision, and it's your way of having an active hand in this country's future!!! VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!! And if you vote you can get a free Starbucks coffee, free Krispy Kreme donut, and free Ben & Jerry's !!!

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! For all you Led Zeppelin fans…they're going back on tour. But for all you Robert Plant fans…he will not be joining. Still mourning the end of Sopranos? You can drown your sorrows with Sopranos wine. Melrose Place fans may soon be able to cheer! With the success of the new 90210 producers are thinking of doing an MP remake as well. King of the Hill is unfortunately caput after this season. Cola beverages have been around for ages and so have soda company logos. Well Pepsi wants to be up with the times and is constantly updating their image, and they've just had another facelift. After a few rain delays the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Tampa Bay Rays for the World Series Championship title. The ING NYC Marathon blasted through all 5 boroughs. Celebs like Ryan Reynolds and Beth Ostrosky ran as well as T-Time friends Rebecca and Ani who rocked the race!!! Brazil's Marilson Gomes dos Santos won for the men (his 2nd win), and Paula Radcliffe of the UK won for the 3rd, 2nd consecutive, time. If you're obsessed with Twinkies as much as I am but don't eat them cause you just know how bad they are for you, it is time to rejoice! Twinkies will now come in 100-calorie snack packs and be bite-size!!! I can die a happy blogger now!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! Election Day is almost upon us, 6 days till T-Time's 1-year anniversary party, and Twinkies will be "healthy"! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of October 21st-27th 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

*T-Time will be celebrating its 1 year anniversary on Saturday, November 8th at 10 p.m…. so please mark your calendars and be on the lookout for the Evite and/or Facebook invite for all the details!

First comes love and babies then comes breaking the law:

Nick Hogan, Hulk's son, was released from prison after serving 166 days for reckless driving after an ugly car accident that left his good friend, John Graziano, in critical condition. Lindsay Lohan may have calmed down, but she still has to pay for her past mistakes. Lindz is being sued by the guys who were in the SUV she "hijacked" last summer to chase down her assistant after she quit! Not only is she being sued, but Lindsay just got cut from her guest role on Ugly Betty. Seems like her diva attitude, large entourage, and competing attitude with Ugly star America Ferrara was too much for the cast and crew to handle. Britney Spears caught a lucky break. Her court case regarding driving with a suspended license was dismissed when the jury couldn't come up with a verdict. Anne Hathaway's shady ex-boyfriend, Raffaello Follieri was sentenced to 4 ½ years in prison for fraud, money laundering and other fun charges. To add to David Duchovny's crazy martial issues, the actor is now suing the Daily Mail for falsely reporting that he was having an affair with his tennis instructor.

At least one X-Files star is experiencing some good news. Gillian Anderson gave birth to a son named Felix. SNL can say good-bye to their last funny female cast member...Amy Poehler announced that she would be leaving the show after giving birth to her first child to pursue motherhood and another TV deal, but everyone thought she would last through the elections. Well baby boy, Archie Arnett (dad is fellow SNLer Will Arnett) came sooner than expected! After a string of female offspring Charlie Sheen is finally rewarding the world with 2 boys (he and wife Brooke are expecting twins)…let's hope they're not as trouble-prone as their dad! Dave Grohl, of the Foo Fighters, and his wife Jordyn are expecting their 2nd child, and rapper Lil' Wayne just had a 2nd child, a son named Dwayne Carter III.

There is nothing like a tragic accident to rekindle a love match…DJ AM and Mandy Moore (not sure what she's doing these days) are a couple once again. Guy Ritchie may be going through a divorce with Madonna, but at least he has a pretty shoulder to cry on. Rumor has it the director is dating Kelly Reilly, an actress in his new movie, a remake of Sherlock Holmes. And George Clooney seems to be hanging out with his on-again/off-again ex Krista "luckiest girl alive" Allen.

American Idol alum and Oscar and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson has had her life tragically turned upside down. Hudson's mother and brother were gunned down in their home, and her 7 year-old nephew's body was found in an SUV close to the crime scene (he was shot several times as well). William Balfour , Jennifer's sister's estranged, ex-convict husband, is the #1 suspect and is in police custody.

8 Days and Counting (Hallelujah!):
Senator Barack Obama not only has Hollywood's support but also members of the international community. London's mayor, Boris Johnson, publicly endorsed the Illinois senator. SNL had some fun with the resident Democrats. Federal agents just busted up a plot by 2 white supremacists to kill Obama and hundreds of African Americans in Tennessee...luckily these jerks were caught in time before anyone got hurt. Senator John McCain met with a who's who financial group that included former Massachusetts Governor and GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney (a millionaire businessman in his own right), former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, and other influential business people to discuss the country's economic crisis and his plan for the future. Governor and GOP VP candidate Sarah Palin, has been dealing with some more controversy. She's being blamed for spending over $150,000 on clothes and travel for herself and her family. Palin has defended herself by stating that the clothes are property of the RNC and don't reflect her true, personal values (she needs to be dressed for all these events)…not to mention the fact that this doesn't really matter considering the other important issues going on in this world. At least Palin can sleep well at night knowing that her image is the top Halloween costume idea! Both campaigns are busy travelling the country and trying to win over the 50 states (in particular the ones that President Bush one). As a dance and TV dance show enthusiast, I think the best way to choose a candidate should be based on his/her dance skills! Will Ferrell will be reprising his role as President George W. Bush on Broadway with a solo show called You're Welcome America. A Final Night With George W. Bush.

NY mayor, Michael Bloomberg, asked for a chance to run for an unprecedented 3rd term and got it! He believes that he needs to stay in office during these hard economic times...now let's see if New Yorkers agree and vote him back in. And of course Paris Hilton is continuing her campaign for the presidency!

Tuesday, November 4th is ELECTION DAY! Please take the time out of your day to vote at your local voting station. It's beyond a super important decision, and it's your way of having an active hand in this country's future!!!

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! If you're getting sick of watching the young and beautiful of L.A., then you'll be happy to hear that there will indeed be a Hills spin-off show called The City . It will star Whitney Port and her adventures in NYC. The world's fattest man just got married! See even if you weigh 1,230 lbs you can still find love! Ever find out you have an STD and don't know how to break it to your loved ones or to the random person you took home the weekend before? Well now you can send an anonymous e-card! No one puts Baby in the corner…but maybe when Dirty Dancing comes to Broadway she'll be placed Stage Left. The city of San Francisco is trying to become the first city to decriminalize prostitution. If Proposition K passes it won't make prostitution legal, but it will make it illegal for authorities to investigate and prosecute these "women of the night" (I'm as confused as you are right now). A group of Swedish scientists have found that drinking 3 cups of coffee a day can shrink women's breasts, but watch out men cause it has the opposite effect (larger man boobs or "moobs"). The Philadelphia Phillies are trying to beat the Tampa Bay Rays in the World Series...if they win tonight's rain-drenched game they're the champs. For all you Curb Your Enthusiasm fanatics you'll be happy to hear that the show has been renewed for another season. And the box office continues to prove that the mass movie goers this past weekend have no taste cause High School Musical 3 came in #1. At least we can be happy to know that this is the last of the High School musicals!!!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! 4 days till Halloween, 6 days till the NYC Marathon, 8 days till the election, and 12 days till T-Time's 1-year anniversary party! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of October 14-20th 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

*October 29th will mark the 1-year anniversary of T-Time. It's hard to believe that I've been filling your brains with both so much useful and useless information for a whole year! I'll be celebrating the big occasion on Saturday, November 8th...location and time TBD...so please mark your calendars and be on the lookout for an invite!

Stars in and out of Love:

It's official and officially sad...Madonna and her husband of over 7.5 years, Guy Ritchie, have called it quits. No real reason has been given, and no settlement has been reached yet (apparently there's no prenup, and Madonna hired the same lawyer who represented Paul McCartney in his massive divorce). Tensions over being separated so much, her desire to adopt another child, his desire to stay in London instead of moving to the U.S., and just the fact that they're pretty much polar opposites would be my guesses as to why their marriage failed. Now all those A-Rod rumors seem just a little more likely. Oh the twisted world of celebrity relationships. First David Duchovny randomly enters rehab for sex addiction claiming it wasn't about cheating on his wife Tea Leoni, and she was by his side supporting him through his treatment. Then it surfaces that the couple are getting divorced, followed by news that the divorce is due to her relationship with former co-star Billy Bob Thorton, followed by the news that they've actually been separated for some time and Duchovny was actually seeing his much younger tennis instructor. Whoa! Jennifer Aniston can't seem to find luck in the love department. Ever since her split from the God known as Brad Pitt she's had a string of failed relationships. But she's not going to go down without a fight. Despite a breakup which was followed by a somewhat public embarrassment on behalf of John Mayer, the couple seem to be rekindling their relationship. They have been seen all over NYC and LA. Maybe she believes in 2nd chances...Singer Nelly Furtado announced that she got married to producer, Demacio Catellonin. The only thing is they got married back in July! See how easy it is to keep a secret when you genuinely want to?!? Whoever said that reality TV love isn't real never met Trista and Ryan Sutter. The couple not only lasted after her stint as the Bachelorette, but they got married and had a super cute son. And now the couple is expecting their 2nd child. Mazel Tov!

You know you're real rock legends when you continue making headlines and you're in your 60s! Beatles drummer, Ringo Starr, announced that he will no longer be signing autographs (don't even bother sending in a request). He claims he's too busy and has other priorities. Wow...I always knew he was one of the more pompous Beatles, but this takes the cake! Not to be outshone, the cuter and more popular Beatle, Paul McCartney, has found love again after his horrific marriage to gold-digger Heather Mills ended in an ugly divorce. He has just moved in with his girlfriend of over a year, Nancy Shevell. Another oldie but goodie, Maureen McCormick, a.k.a. Marcia Brady, released a tell-all book where she admits to drinking and doing drugs and having affairs with the likes of her TV brother Greg, Michael Jackson, and Steve Martin. I just can't wait for Britney's tell-all!!!

Slowly and surely all the hottest male stars are being stolen away by women and babies. The most recent victim is Mark Wahlberg. Despite having 3 kids with model, girlfriend Rhea Durham, the couple never officially settled down. Well your chance of ever seeing him in his Calvins is over now since he announced that the 2 will wed next August. In case seeing Brad Pitt in a loin cloth in Troy wasn't enough for all you animals, the star has signed on to play Odysseus! Sean Penn proved yet again that he's not the sharpest tool in the shed by visiting Venezuelan dictator, Hugo Chavez, for the 2nd time. What exactly is he trying to prove?

Both Travis Barker and DJ AM are slowly recovering from their horrific and fatal plane crash. DJ AM made his first public appearance at a party in his honor and announced that he will be touring with Jay Z. Travis Barker had to stay in the hospital a while longer due to the extent of his injuries, but he was just released and is expected to make a full recovery. Finally fans got a reason for all of Janet Jackson's cancelled tour dates...vestibular migraines that caused vertigo. Hopefully she'll get better soon and continue on with her tour.

The 2008 American Music Award (AMA) nominations were announced. If you want to see if your fave artist made the list you can check it out here. The actual awards show will air Sunday, November 23rd at 8/7c on ABC. The L from TLC, Lisa, Left Eye, Lopes is releasing an album posthumously. Not sure what took so long, or if there's still a market out there for her music. Britney Spears's comeback is doing well...very well actually! Womanizer is her first #1 single since Baby, One More Time! Let's see how long this sane version lasts!

15 Days and Counting:

Finally! The debates are over! The election is so close! I know I'm not the only one who's tired of all of this...the campaigning has been going on for over a year!!! The 3rd and final debate was a little feistier and a little more personal, but it was also still full of talking points. If you missed it you can check it out here. The true star of the debate was "Joe the Plumber". What started as an innocent question from the plumber to Senator Barack Obama became a central point in every answer at the debate! Senator Obama is leading in the polls and has raised another record amount for his campaign (~$150M for the month of September). The Obama campaign is also getting clever with their advertising...they actually have "billboard ads" in the Xbox game, Burnout Paradise. Another positive for their campaign...former Secretary of State Colin Powell officially endorsed Obama for President.

Both candidates attended the Al Smith dinner and roasted one another...it's actually pretty hysterical and endearing. Senator John McCain had the attendees rolling in their seats, as did Senator Obama! It's nice to see the candidates let loose and genuinely have a good time!

Well she actually did it! GOP VP candidate Governor Sarah Palin made her first appearance on Saturday Night Live, and it was pretty funny. She didn't actually perform as a character, but she did take part in 2 sketches where she was made fun of! The first clip is pretty funny, but the 2nd one is truly hysterical one, and there's even some backstage footage. Senator McCain finally made it on with David Letterman after taking a public lashing for cancelling during the financial crisis but still going on with Katie Couric. A Tennessee man named his daughter Sarah McCain Palin in support of the GOP ticket but against his wife's wishes...would a bumper sticker be that bad of an alternative?!?

Senator Hillary Clinton did a couple of interviews where she claimed that she has no interest in running for President again or being on the Supreme Court, but I think she's just playing her role as supportive Democratic party member instead of bitter arch-rival! Former First Lady, Nancy Reagan, was hospitalized for breaking her pelvis but has already been released. If you're concerned with the future of the Supreme Court under a new administration this is a really good breakdown of the possibilities. With the drama with ACORN (Mickey Mouse was registered to vote) and other possible voter fraud in Ohio continuing...I have a feeling that election night will be full of drama! Oliver Stone's new movie about the current President, W., didn't do as well as expected. Don't be surprised...people go to the movies to escape reality, not deal with it for another 2 hours!

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! Here's my take on the economic situation. One day the Dow is up, and the next day it's down. I hope that's helpful. There is talk that a sequel to the movie Wall Street with Michael Douglas may be in the works. French President Nicolas Sarkozy's bank account was hacked into. If the French president's bank account and Sarah Palin's email account aren't safe from hackers, then what is? And what are they paying all that security for?!? The infamous Mr. Blackwell, the man who published the annual worst dressed list and made many a celebrity cry, died at the age of 86. Finally Beverly Hills Chihuahua was dethroned from its #1 place at the box office...Mark Wahlberg's new movie Max Payne took the top spot! CNN announced that comedian/actor D.L. Hughley will be hosting a political variety show, similar to The Daily Show, for their network. A small study proved that the classic disco hit Stayin Alive is the perfect rhythm to do CPR compressions to...it's too ironic for words! Project Runway named this season's winner, and Leanne Marshall took the grande prize. First NY and then LA hosted its Fashion Week. You can check out some of the shows here.

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! You have a fun and busy 2 weeks ahead: 11 days till Halloween, 13 days till the NYC Marathon, 15 days till the election, and 19 days till T-Time's 1-year anniversary party! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.
