T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of December 31st 2008 - January 5th 2009

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

*I hope you all had a happy and safe New Year!!! Hopefully '09 will bring T-Time bigger and better things!*

A New Year...Same Ol' Celebs:

If Britney isn't making headlines you can at least count on her family to do so. Her brother Bryan, the man in charge of her finances, got married to his other baby-sister's (the teenage mother) Jamie-Lynn's manager Graciella Sanchez. Brit's ex, K-Fed, seems to be moving on. Not only does he have a new girlfriend, but he's also in talks to develop a children's clothing line. I foresee baby wife-beaters, baggy shorts, and knee socks :p

For any of you hoping to see a baby Mariah Carey I have some bad news. The Diva is not preggers...unless champagne and oysters are now the healthy diet choices for expecting mothers. Mariah was photographed partying it up on a yacht disproving all those baby rumors. But one Hollywood couple are new parents. Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell just welcomed twin daughters, Dolly Rebecca Rose (name after Dolly Parton) and Charlie Tamara Tulip (name after Jerry's bro Charlie and T-Time...obvi). Remember Tim Allen from Home Improvement? Well he's gonna be a daddy, again. He and wife Jane Hajduk are expecting their first child together. It's nice to see that he's keeping busy :p

I Kissed A Girl singer Katy Perry and her BF Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes have split. You can all breathe a sigh of relief...Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have NOT split. It's all gonna be a-ok! Jennifer Love Hewitt has let another relationship end in flames. She and her fiance Ross McCall have called it quits after 3 years together. Gossip Girl mom Kelly Rutherford, a.k.a. Lilly, has filed for divorce from her 2nd hubby Daniel Giersch. She has a son with Giersch and a 2nd child on the way! Patricia Arquette and her super cute hubby Thomas Jane have also filed for divorce. On a positive note actor Gary Oldman has married for the 4th time. The new Mrs. Oldman is Alexandra Edenborough. Dancing With the Stars pro-dancers Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerksovskiy got engaged New Year's day. Craig Ferguson, host of CBS's The Late, Late Show just married Megan Wallace Cunningham.

Poor Queen Latifah. The poor woman just wanted a relaxing vacation. Instead she was robbed of $10K worth of jewelry out of her hotel room. First Paris, then the Queen. If I had that much money I would pay someone to watch my stuff ALL the time! Comedian Dane Cook is dealing with a very unfunny situation. His manager (and brother) has been arrested for stealing millions from the star. If you can't trust family who can you trust?!? If you think that you're the only one affected by Bernie Madoff's $50B ponzi-scheme you are very wrong. Even super rich celebs have been hit hard. Apparently Kevin Bacon invested a ton of money with the criminal and as a result lost a ton of moolah. Charles Barkley got himself into a little trouble last week. He was arrested for drunk driving after being pulled over for speeding. Why was he in such a rush? Straight from the horse's mouth..."to get a BJ from a girl...the best he ever got". Class Act Charles, Class Act! Matt Dillon was also arrested for speeding. No juicy details from this arrest...just a lead foot.

MTV needs to refresh their programming. I wish I could say I'm above it, but I'm not. I watch The Hills, and I have been sucked into The City, the NYC spinoff show. Unfortunately not as many people can say the same cause the show's ratings are poor, poor, poor. Come on people...come together and save bad TV! It's hard to be a hip-hop star these days. 50 cent's Apprentice ripoff show on MTV has been cancelled. At least he has a job to fall back on.

2009 is already off to a great start! Rosie O'Donnell has quit her blog! Woohoo! No mas random haiku poems and videos of her finger painting! One of the best artists of all time, Prince, announced that he will be releasing not 1, not 2, but 3 new albums in the new year!!! '09 is also looking up for Heather Locklear. She got out of serving jail time for her driving under the influence arrest. She just has to pay a fine and do some community service. And she may be reprising her role as Amanda Woodward in the new Melrose Place.

Tragedy struck the Travolta family. Jett Travolta, John Travolta and Kelly Preston's 16-year-old son died in the Bahamas while on vacation with his family. Jett suffered from seizures and other medical issues throughout his entire life. The autopsy has revealed that seizures were the cause of death. It's believed the boy had a seizure, fell and hit his head on the bathtub. He was cremated, and the family has returned to the States with his remains. Dr. Dre's 20-year-old son Andre Young, Jr. was found dead back in August. The toxicology reports were released and showed that he died from an overdose of heroine and morphine. Mia Farrow's 35-year-old daughter died after a long battle with illness. Lark Previn was born in Vietnam and was adopted by Farrow and her then-husband conductor Andre Previn. Anjelica Houston's hubby, celebrated sculptor Robert Graham passed away at the age of 70.

The Office of President-elect Barack Obama:

The Obama's are not officially in the White House yet, but they have moved to D.C. They returned from their Hawaiian vacation and are currently living in the Hay-Adams hotel. This way Obama can start working with his team, and his daughters got to start school at the same time as their new classmates at Sidwell Friends. Obama's pick for Commerce Secretary, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson has withdrawn himself from the nomination due to an impending investigation into possible state corruption charges.

Both Hillary and Bill Clinton rang in the New Year in their "hometown" of NYC. Caroline Kennedy is inching closer and closer to filling Hillary's soon-to-be vacant Senate seat. NY Governor David Paterson said he won't make an announcement till Hillary is sworn into her new position as Secretary of State, but rumors are flying that Caroline's got it. Before Hill can go anywhere she's gotta take care of her $6.3M campaign debt cause once she's in office she can't solicit $, and Jon Bon Jovi is coming to the rescue. He will sing at a benefit tentatively called "a final evening in support of Hillary Clinton for President Debt Relief" and ticket prices will range from $75 to $1,000.

One of the White House pets has passed away. The Bush family's cat, India, died at the old age of 18.

Disgraced Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich isn't letting a huge scandal keep him from doing his job. He announced his pick for replacing Senator Obama's vacant Senate seat. The winner is Roland Burris. Unfortunately some peeps in gov't are not OK with this...they would like the Illinois people to vote themselves (not too mention the shady fact that Burris donated to Blago in the past). The 111th Congress was sworn in today. Current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was reelected. Burris was turned away when he showed up to take his seat! The Minnesota Senate race seems to finally be coming to an end. Al Franken will be announced as the winner, but Norm Coleman's campaign will most likely file some lawsuits to challenge it.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! The fighting between Israel and Hamas is showing no signs of calming down. There has been different criticism of the situation with anti-Israel protests worldwide. But NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg said it best during several interviews after returning from Israel: "The bottom line is that we have a special relationship with Israel, ... If terrorists win there, the terrorists will be on our doorstep next. We are all engaged collectively in trying to stop terrorism." ; "If [Hamas] wanted to really make a difference for the Palestinian people, they would work hard in rebuilding Gaza and not work hard on trying to destroy Israel and kill innocent people, ...This is one of those clear-cut cases. There's one terrorist organization that says repeatedly we're going to try to kill and maim as many innocent people as we can." ; "You should rest assured, if anyone in New York was being threatened, my instruction to the NYPD (New York police) would be to use all the resources at their disposal to protect civilians." Thank you Mr. Mayor. NYC's major cable provider Time Warner and Viacom, the company that provides you with MTV, VHI, Nickelodeon, etc were battling over a price increase. For a hot minute it looked like all Time Warner customers were going to lose their quality programming, but now it seems like they've kissed and made up. Just be on the look out for a price increase in your cable bill! The Associated Press has named Peyton Manning as the NFL's MVP for the 3rd time tying him with Brett Favre. Edna Parker, the world's oldest person, died at the age of 115. Can you imagine all she saw over 115 years?!? Apple's CEO Steve Jobs, the man solely responsible for people's inability to walk anywhere without white earbuds in their ears, wants you to know that he's not dying and/or stepping down from his position. After missing some major company events and looking extremely skinny rumors were flying that his pancreatic cancer returned. He just released a statement that he's ok but suffering from a hormonal imbalance. He's taking medication and will be the first person to announce if he's no longer able to do his job. New movie recommendation for the week...Slumdog Millionaire. If you have't seen it...you should!!! I know how you all love T-Time so much, but I thought that maybe a singing "year in review" would make you all super happy! Don't worry...T-Time isn't singing ("T" stands for tone-deaf). So here's your "2008 Year-In-Review" video of the week.

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! It's a new year! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.
