T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of January 13-20th 2009

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

Celeb Baby Fever:

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner released the name of their new daughter...Seraphina Rose Elizabeth. Kimmora Lee Simmons and her beau Djimon Hounsou are expecting their first child together. Backstreet Boys member Howie Dorough (the quiet one) and his wife are expecting their first child. Lisa Marie Presley finally debuted pics of her twin baby girls. Hip Hop duo Nas and Kelis are expecting their first child together. And Brothers and Sisters star Rachel Griffiths is expecting as well.

Celebs are always keeping themselves busy. One of the funniest men on Earth, Chris Rock, will be writing a 2nd book that will come out in 2010! Leonardo DiCaprio just signed on to be the face of Tag Heuer. But instead of keeping the money he plans on donating it to "green causes" organizations. British singer Leona Lewis is joining the cool celeb train and coming out with a perfume and an autobiography. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and her hubby Pete are going to guest star on CSI as a trouble couple. Michael Jordan has been keeping quiet while slowly rolling in the millions. He has just added steaks (yes 'moo' steaks) to his list of business endeavors. I think someone's taking a chapter from Mr. Trump's book. John Mayer is venturing into TV land...he's getting his own musical comedy hour show. If it does well it may be picked up.

So it's pretty obvious that Kate Hudson can't be single. She has a new boyfriend every other minute. She is currently being linked with super hot golfer Adam Scott.

Patrick Swayze has been released from the hospital after checking himself in for pneumonia. Actor Ricardo Montalban, most famous for his role in Fantasy Island, passed away at the age of 88. Jennifer Hudson is still mourning the loss of her mother, brother and nephew but it looks like she will finally make her first public appearance at the Super Bowl and then the Grammys.

T-Time is a huge fan of Scrubs and has noticed something very interesting! Courtney Cox guest-starred for a few episodes, and her character name was Taylor Maddox. "Maddox"= Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's oldest child...Courtney Cox=Jennifer Aniston's best friend. Coincidence? T-Time thinks not!

The Office of President-elect Barack Obama:

President-elect Barack Obama had his official presidential photograph taken. You can check it out here. This past week has been all about Inauguration Day. Soon-to-be President Barack Obama took a historic train ride from Philadelphia to Washington D.C. stopping on the way at Wilmington and Baltimore. He and Vice President-elect Joe Biden paid their respects to the troops by laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknowns. People have been swarming to the capital to attend the several inauguration balls. There was a huge concert at the Lincoln Memorial...U2, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce and many other stars came out to perform. HBO bought the exclusive rights to air the show so you can catch it all on their channel. Obama and his wife also volunteered on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day to promote community service. Today is the big day...Obama makes history and will be sworn in as the nation's first African American president. Beyonce will sing Etta James' "At Last" for the First Couple's First Dance.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! There was a miracle in New York City last week...a US Airways plane hit a flock of geese and had to do an emergency landing in the Hudson River. Amazingly all the passengers survived, and the pilot is being called a hero. If you're still excited over the New Kids on the Block reunion, then you'll be glad to know that they are going back out on tour. Unfortunately for all you Prison Break fans the show has been cancelled...you are currently watching the last season. Some sports fans take their love to insane levels. The Pittsburgh Steelers have made it to this year's Super Bowl, and the city's mayor Luke Ravenstahl ceremoniously changed his name to Luke Steelerstahl! Karate Kid is being remade...Will Smith's son will play the lead role and Jackie Chan will be the teacher. After all the buzz about his health, Apple's Steve Jobs has decided to take a temporary medical leave...Tim Cook will replace him. Run DMC will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. There have been rumors of a Gossip Girl spinoff show, and now it's coming true. The show will be about Lily Van der Woodsen as a young girl in the city during the '80s! Can't wait!!! Your video of the week is for anyone who likes a great commercial or at least great dance songs!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! Barack Obama is officially the new president and Michael Jordan steaks are coming to a store near you! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of January 6-12th 2009

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

Award Shows and Celebrities:

The best part of a new year?!? Awards shows!!! This past week saw the People's Choice Awards, Critics' Choice Awards, and most importantly Golden Globes. For the most part, T-Time's favorite movie of the year Slumdog Millionaire swept all of the awards, and the late Heath Ledger has been winning posthumously for his role in The Dark Knight. But don't worry...there are still tons of awards shows coming up. The NAACP nominations came out...you can see the entire list here.

Patrick Swayze gave an intimate interview to Barbara Walters on 20/20 where he admitted to being "scared as hell" and possibly only having 2 years left to live. He was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer a year ago. And just last Friday the star admitted himself into a hospital after coming down with pneumonia, a complication from all his chemotherapy treatments. Howie Mandel was just hospitalized for heart pains and a possible heart attack.

Fergie and Josh Duhamel finally tied the knot after a few years of dating and a year-long engagement. One day they are and the next they are not...but it seems official that Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady are engaged. Who's the Boss? and Charmed actress Alyssa Milano got engaged to CAA agent David Bugliari. New couple alert...Carrie Underwood is rumored to be dating NHL player Mike Fisher. R. Kelly finalized his divorce from his wife of 11 years. Who knew he was even married?!? Dexter's Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter secretly got hitched. Amy Winehouse's hubby, Blake Fielder-Civil, is filing for divorce from the troubled singer.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck welcomed their 2nd daughter...no name has been released yet. Ugly Betty's Ana Ortiz is expecting her first child. Kevin James took being a Mets fan a little too far and named his daughter Shea.

The stars are keeping busy with side work.Tori Spelling is making her debut on 90210 the show her late father created and what made her "famous". The newest cast of Celebrity Apprentice has been announced. Gwyneth Paltrow is reportedly looking to open up a chain of gyms with her trainer (Madonna's trainer too) Tracy Anderson. If a gym can make me look like Paltrow or Madge then sign me up! Love Paris Hilton? Own everything Paris? Well now you can buy the "Paris Hilton Craft Kit". Seriously...she likes to craft and hopes that you will too! James Gandolfini is making his way to the Great White Way in the play God of Carnage. U2's Bono is proving yet again that he's more than just an awesome musician. He will now be contributing as an Op-Ed columnist to the New York Times.

The Office of President-elect Barack Obama:

The Congress officially certified Obama as President. Sure the people spoke, but technically the Congress has to declare it..fluff ceremony. It was a historic moment in the White House last week. All 4 living presidents plus the soon-to-be President got together for a photo-op and lunch meeting. The last time a group of living presidents got together like that was back in 1981. CNN's medical expert Sanjay Gupta has been picked by the President-elect to be part of his administration as Surgeon General. But the really big decision still seems to be about the First Dog...the 2 breeds in the running are Labradoodles and Portuguese Water Hounds. Obama's got a serious new ride in the presidential car. And to add to his cool factor...he's been partnered up with Spiderman. Obama has also picked Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson, the first openly gay bishop of the Episcopal Church, to give an invocation at the Lincoln Memorial. Next Tuesday, January 20th is the big day...Inauguration Day!

Ben & Jerrys is coming out with a new flavor in honor of the new President-elect..."Yes PeCan".

President Bush is busy tying up loose ends. He gave his final press conference (where he said how he really felt about everything over the past 8 years), met with his cabinet for one last time and will give a farewell address this Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern.

For any of you MSNBC lovers/haters Chris Matthews set the record straight...he is not running for Pennsylvania Senate. Is he or isn't going to be impeached? That is the question still plaguing Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Sarah Palin has been lying low recently but a new interview is making its round on YouTube where she says everything she really thinks about what happened during the campaign trail.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! If the English Princes, William and Harry, weren't spoiled enough their g-ma just gave them even more rights and responsibility. They received their own "royal household" including staff and personal "cyphers"/emblems. iTunes will slowly be changing to "iTunes Plus" format, DRM-free, so now when you download music from the iTune store you have more freedom with it! The economic crisis is hitting everyone hard. Banks came crashing down, automakers are about to go out of business, and now the porn industry is asking for a share of the bailout pie. "Legitimate" businessman like Hustler's Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild's Joe Francis are asking for money cause the porn industry is suffering. NY Fashion Week is going to look pretty different this year. Some big name designers like Vera Wang, Betsey Johnson, Monique Lhuillier, and Carmen Marc Valvo are backing out of showing in the tents cause it's too expensive. But Justin Timberlake's line, William Rast, will be there. Nastia Liukin is using her 15 minutes of fame to use...she's now the face of Max Azria. Clint Eastwood's latest flick, Gran Torino came in #1 at the box office. The old man still has it.

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! Awards seasons is upon us! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of December 31st 2008 - January 5th 2009

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

*I hope you all had a happy and safe New Year!!! Hopefully '09 will bring T-Time bigger and better things!*

A New Year...Same Ol' Celebs:

If Britney isn't making headlines you can at least count on her family to do so. Her brother Bryan, the man in charge of her finances, got married to his other baby-sister's (the teenage mother) Jamie-Lynn's manager Graciella Sanchez. Brit's ex, K-Fed, seems to be moving on. Not only does he have a new girlfriend, but he's also in talks to develop a children's clothing line. I foresee baby wife-beaters, baggy shorts, and knee socks :p

For any of you hoping to see a baby Mariah Carey I have some bad news. The Diva is not preggers...unless champagne and oysters are now the healthy diet choices for expecting mothers. Mariah was photographed partying it up on a yacht disproving all those baby rumors. But one Hollywood couple are new parents. Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O'Connell just welcomed twin daughters, Dolly Rebecca Rose (name after Dolly Parton) and Charlie Tamara Tulip (name after Jerry's bro Charlie and T-Time...obvi). Remember Tim Allen from Home Improvement? Well he's gonna be a daddy, again. He and wife Jane Hajduk are expecting their first child together. It's nice to see that he's keeping busy :p

I Kissed A Girl singer Katy Perry and her BF Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes have split. You can all breathe a sigh of relief...Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have NOT split. It's all gonna be a-ok! Jennifer Love Hewitt has let another relationship end in flames. She and her fiance Ross McCall have called it quits after 3 years together. Gossip Girl mom Kelly Rutherford, a.k.a. Lilly, has filed for divorce from her 2nd hubby Daniel Giersch. She has a son with Giersch and a 2nd child on the way! Patricia Arquette and her super cute hubby Thomas Jane have also filed for divorce. On a positive note actor Gary Oldman has married for the 4th time. The new Mrs. Oldman is Alexandra Edenborough. Dancing With the Stars pro-dancers Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerksovskiy got engaged New Year's day. Craig Ferguson, host of CBS's The Late, Late Show just married Megan Wallace Cunningham.

Poor Queen Latifah. The poor woman just wanted a relaxing vacation. Instead she was robbed of $10K worth of jewelry out of her hotel room. First Paris, then the Queen. If I had that much money I would pay someone to watch my stuff ALL the time! Comedian Dane Cook is dealing with a very unfunny situation. His manager (and brother) has been arrested for stealing millions from the star. If you can't trust family who can you trust?!? If you think that you're the only one affected by Bernie Madoff's $50B ponzi-scheme you are very wrong. Even super rich celebs have been hit hard. Apparently Kevin Bacon invested a ton of money with the criminal and as a result lost a ton of moolah. Charles Barkley got himself into a little trouble last week. He was arrested for drunk driving after being pulled over for speeding. Why was he in such a rush? Straight from the horse's mouth..."to get a BJ from a girl...the best he ever got". Class Act Charles, Class Act! Matt Dillon was also arrested for speeding. No juicy details from this arrest...just a lead foot.

MTV needs to refresh their programming. I wish I could say I'm above it, but I'm not. I watch The Hills, and I have been sucked into The City, the NYC spinoff show. Unfortunately not as many people can say the same cause the show's ratings are poor, poor, poor. Come on people...come together and save bad TV! It's hard to be a hip-hop star these days. 50 cent's Apprentice ripoff show on MTV has been cancelled. At least he has a job to fall back on.

2009 is already off to a great start! Rosie O'Donnell has quit her blog! Woohoo! No mas random haiku poems and videos of her finger painting! One of the best artists of all time, Prince, announced that he will be releasing not 1, not 2, but 3 new albums in the new year!!! '09 is also looking up for Heather Locklear. She got out of serving jail time for her driving under the influence arrest. She just has to pay a fine and do some community service. And she may be reprising her role as Amanda Woodward in the new Melrose Place.

Tragedy struck the Travolta family. Jett Travolta, John Travolta and Kelly Preston's 16-year-old son died in the Bahamas while on vacation with his family. Jett suffered from seizures and other medical issues throughout his entire life. The autopsy has revealed that seizures were the cause of death. It's believed the boy had a seizure, fell and hit his head on the bathtub. He was cremated, and the family has returned to the States with his remains. Dr. Dre's 20-year-old son Andre Young, Jr. was found dead back in August. The toxicology reports were released and showed that he died from an overdose of heroine and morphine. Mia Farrow's 35-year-old daughter died after a long battle with illness. Lark Previn was born in Vietnam and was adopted by Farrow and her then-husband conductor Andre Previn. Anjelica Houston's hubby, celebrated sculptor Robert Graham passed away at the age of 70.

The Office of President-elect Barack Obama:

The Obama's are not officially in the White House yet, but they have moved to D.C. They returned from their Hawaiian vacation and are currently living in the Hay-Adams hotel. This way Obama can start working with his team, and his daughters got to start school at the same time as their new classmates at Sidwell Friends. Obama's pick for Commerce Secretary, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson has withdrawn himself from the nomination due to an impending investigation into possible state corruption charges.

Both Hillary and Bill Clinton rang in the New Year in their "hometown" of NYC. Caroline Kennedy is inching closer and closer to filling Hillary's soon-to-be vacant Senate seat. NY Governor David Paterson said he won't make an announcement till Hillary is sworn into her new position as Secretary of State, but rumors are flying that Caroline's got it. Before Hill can go anywhere she's gotta take care of her $6.3M campaign debt cause once she's in office she can't solicit $, and Jon Bon Jovi is coming to the rescue. He will sing at a benefit tentatively called "a final evening in support of Hillary Clinton for President Debt Relief" and ticket prices will range from $75 to $1,000.

One of the White House pets has passed away. The Bush family's cat, India, died at the old age of 18.

Disgraced Illinois Governor, Rod Blagojevich isn't letting a huge scandal keep him from doing his job. He announced his pick for replacing Senator Obama's vacant Senate seat. The winner is Roland Burris. Unfortunately some peeps in gov't are not OK with this...they would like the Illinois people to vote themselves (not too mention the shady fact that Burris donated to Blago in the past). The 111th Congress was sworn in today. Current House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was reelected. Burris was turned away when he showed up to take his seat! The Minnesota Senate race seems to finally be coming to an end. Al Franken will be announced as the winner, but Norm Coleman's campaign will most likely file some lawsuits to challenge it.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! The fighting between Israel and Hamas is showing no signs of calming down. There has been different criticism of the situation with anti-Israel protests worldwide. But NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg said it best during several interviews after returning from Israel: "The bottom line is that we have a special relationship with Israel, ... If terrorists win there, the terrorists will be on our doorstep next. We are all engaged collectively in trying to stop terrorism." ; "If [Hamas] wanted to really make a difference for the Palestinian people, they would work hard in rebuilding Gaza and not work hard on trying to destroy Israel and kill innocent people, ...This is one of those clear-cut cases. There's one terrorist organization that says repeatedly we're going to try to kill and maim as many innocent people as we can." ; "You should rest assured, if anyone in New York was being threatened, my instruction to the NYPD (New York police) would be to use all the resources at their disposal to protect civilians." Thank you Mr. Mayor. NYC's major cable provider Time Warner and Viacom, the company that provides you with MTV, VHI, Nickelodeon, etc were battling over a price increase. For a hot minute it looked like all Time Warner customers were going to lose their quality programming, but now it seems like they've kissed and made up. Just be on the look out for a price increase in your cable bill! The Associated Press has named Peyton Manning as the NFL's MVP for the 3rd time tying him with Brett Favre. Edna Parker, the world's oldest person, died at the age of 115. Can you imagine all she saw over 115 years?!? Apple's CEO Steve Jobs, the man solely responsible for people's inability to walk anywhere without white earbuds in their ears, wants you to know that he's not dying and/or stepping down from his position. After missing some major company events and looking extremely skinny rumors were flying that his pancreatic cancer returned. He just released a statement that he's ok but suffering from a hormonal imbalance. He's taking medication and will be the first person to announce if he's no longer able to do his job. New movie recommendation for the week...Slumdog Millionaire. If you have't seen it...you should!!! I know how you all love T-Time so much, but I thought that maybe a singing "year in review" would make you all super happy! Don't worry...T-Time isn't singing ("T" stands for tone-deaf). So here's your "2008 Year-In-Review" video of the week.

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! It's a new year! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of December 23rd-29th 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

Celeb-Potpourri:

Paris Hilton's home was robbed a couple of weeks ago, and the criminals took off with more than $2M in jewelry and clothes. Not one to drown in her sorrows...Paris showed up on the streets of L.A. in a Pepto-Bismol pink Bentley (especially made for her). Oh I hope Paris never goes away!!! Who knew that David Spade was such a gun enthusiast. The actor saw a story on Fox News about how the Phoenix police department didn't have enough weapons and were buying their own to fight crime in the area. Well super-Spade came to the rescue and donated $100,000! Nice to see the stars giving back. DJ AM has decided to sue over the jet crash that almost took his life. Travis Barker and the families of the deceased have already filed suits. They all claim that the plane wasn't equipped and prepared for their flight so the whole accident could have been avoided. David Beckham, or g-d as T-Time likes to refer to him, has officially joined the Italian soccer/football team AC Milan for a short-term stint. So he'll be spending some time in Italy instead of the states. It's ok though...eventually he will come back! Tara Reid is still in rehab, but now gossip sites are claiming that it's all for publicity. Apparently the rehab center promised her free service in exchange for leaking her name. The center adamantly denies this, but I wouldn't put it past Reid. Remember all those pictures of Matthew McConaughey filming a surfing movie on the beach in those striped boardshorts? Yeah well the movie is finally out...on DVD. Surfer, Dude never made it to the big screen so you can get your hands on at your local video store! The Associated Press has named Tina Fey as the #1 Entertainer of the Year. Good choice AP!

Madonna and Guy Ritchie may be officially divorced but they still had Christmas together...for the sake of the kids. It seems that Madge's affair with A-Rod has fizzled out and she's dating a Brazilian model named Jesus. I don't know how much I believe that, but Queen M never ceases to surprise. Guy is reportedly dating Hugh Grant's ex-girlfriend Jemima Khan. It's nice to see these 2 move on so quickly! Rumors are swirling that JLo and Marc Anthony are about to split any day! One moment she's wearing her ring, and the next she's not. As of now they're playing nice and showing up places together. Poor JLo can't catch a love break. Woody Harrelson has finally married his girlfriend of 20 years, and mother to his children, Laurie Louie. The Girls Next Door "star" Kendra Wilkinson has picked a date for her wedding to Philadephia Eagles player Hank Baskett...June 27th. I bet you money they'll tape that for the show! Are they or aren't they?!? As of now...Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen are not engaged. Actress Zooey Deschanel (Elf and Yes Man...which I recommend) is engaged to Ben Gibbard of the band Death Cab for Cutie. And America's Next Top Model Season 3 winner, Eva Marcille (formerly Pigford) is engaged to her House of Payne costar Lance Gross.

Britney may be showing signs of improvement, but she couldn't have done it without a very large team behind her. A judge has ruled that she must giver her dad a $6,000 raise for being her conservator. She also has to pay her brother for helping manage her money and all the lawyers for dealing with her craziness in and out of court. Brit Brit also sent our her Christmas card, and I have to admit it's pretty cute! Not to be outdone...Brit's ex K-Fed has a new girlfriend (some 6 ft volleyball player with a slightly violent past). Winners...all winners!

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz may be against selling pictures of their newborn son Bronx Mowgli, but they're not against posting his picture on their website. Here's the cute new babe. Lance Armstrong and his girlfriend Anna Hansen are expecting their first child together. What's especially amazing about this story is that Lance's 3 children from his previous marriage were conceived via artificial insemination...the cyclist had his sperm frozen after he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. But this new child was conceived au naturale. That man is unstoppable! Grey's Anatomy star Chyler Leigh (Lexi) is expecting her child with her hubby

If you're a fan of the Boss or if you're from NJ you'll be happy to know that Bruce Springsteen is releasing yet another greatest hits album. Touring artists did well this year. Bon Jovi had the top tour of the year, followed by Springsteen and Madonna taking 3rd place. Jennifer Hudson is still mourning the loss of her mother, brother and nephew and has backed out of many previously scheduled commitments. But it has been announced that she will perform live at the Grammys. Beyonce continues to release double videos for her new album I Am...Sasha Fierce. Her new singles are Halo and Diva. I'm normally like her dance songs, but this time Halo got me! With the new year only a day away there have been many "best of" lists compiled. Spin Magazine released its Top 20 videos of 2008. As a fan of videos this is one of my favorite lists!

The Office of President-elect Barack Obama:

Time Magazine has named their Person of the Year, and not surprising it is President-elect Barack Obama. Here's a look at Obama's current administration.
Interested in the Inauguration Day details? Well here's what we know so far. On the big day, January 20th, Obama will be sworn in by Pastor Rick Warren (an interesting choice since Warren is quite conservative and anti-gay marriage). He will be swearing on the same bible that Abraham Lincoln used when he was sworn in as our 16th President. And Obama's tux will be made by his favorite Chicago-based menswear designer Hart Schaffner Marx. Here is a more detailed schedule of the big day. But before he officially become the Pres, Obama and his family have been vacationing in Hawaii. They were also there to pay respects to his late grandmother who helped raise him and died 2 days before he won the election. The family spread her ashes in the ocean.

President Bush has been busy pardoning people...19 in all. But he actually withdrew 1 so now it's down to 18. See...no lame duck president here! Governor Sarah Palin is officially a grandma! Her daughter Bristol gave birth to a baby boy named Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston.

Believe it or not but the Minnesota Senate race is still going on! Election Night was Nov. 4th!!! The recount is on-going...neither Al Franken [D] or Norm Coleman [R] are showing signs of giving up! Caroline, daughter of JFK, Kennedy has officially acknowledged interested in Hillary Clinton's soon-to-be vacant Senate seat. She has met w. Rev. Al Sharpton as well as NY Governor Paterson, and she has done a string of interviews. But so far reaction to her bid has been lukewarm. Illinois Governor Blagojevich is still fighting impeachment and claiming he did nothing wrong...despite the tape recorded conversations proving otherwise. He is being accused of trying to sell Obama's vacant Senate seat.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! The sad story of the missing Florida toddler, Caylee Anthony, finally came to an end. A body found in the woods was id'd as hers, and now the search is on for who her killer is...suspect #1 is her mom Casey Anthony. There is unrest in the Middle East yet again. Israel and Hamas are fighting one another after Hamas started airstrikes over the Gaza strip. Things are showing no signs of calming down. Israel refuses to back down and will continue to defend itself till Hamas backs off. The State of California has been suffering from serious economic problems. The Governator is struggling to find a way to get rid of the debt...even trying to force workers to take unpaid days off (they get a vaca and the gov't saves $) :p Folks aren't liking this plan too much. What was the best-selling book of this year?!? The Bible...duh! It wins every year! If you plan on going to China and seeing Batman: The Dark Knight you're s.o.l. China has banned the movie. Jennifer Aniston's new movie Marley and Me beat out her ex Brad Pitt's new movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button...revenge is sweet. I have not seen Marley, but I can and will highly recommend Benjamin. Legendary actress/singer Eartha Kitt, most famous for being Catwoman died at the age of 81 from colon cancer. Beyonce's Single Ladies video has brought T-Time many videos of the week, but this is by far the best! Enjoy!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! 2009 is only 1 day away! All is right with the world! I hope you break all your resolutions...eat a lot of bad food and waste all your money...I double dog dare you :p

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of December 9-15th 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

Celebrihood:

Britney's new album, Circus, debuted at #1. Her insanely packed promotional tour paid off. Now let's see if she can stay sane! If you live in Cali or Tennessee then buckle up...tween sensation Miley Cyrus got her driver's permit. Unfortunately the star didn't get the car of her dreams and has to settle with her mom's old Porsche...woe is her. Beyonce has announced that she will go on tour for her new album I Am...Sasha Fierce Ellen's CoverGirl ads have finally been released...and she's quite easy, breezy, beautiful, CoverGirl! Kanye West is trying to expand his horizons. He has announced that he would like to be a fashion intern for Louis Vuitton. Amy Poehler taped her final episode of SNL and gave a mini-goodbye to all her fans. Tom Cruise has been making the rounds promoting his new movie Valkyrie, and he's trying to do his best to seem normal, nice, and apologetic for his previous outbursts. Jennifer Aniston has also been busy promoting her new movie, Marley and Me, and proving that she's still hot. Just check out her spread in the new GQ Magazine.

Luckily Madonna has millions of dollars cause this past week her bank account saw $6 M come in and $76M leave! Madge sued and won $6 over leaked wedding pics from her nuptials to Guy Ritchie. A U.K. magazine printed the never before seen pics when their divorce news broke, and now the mag is probably seriously regretting it. But for all the good comes bad as well. Queen M and Guy finally reached a financial settlement, and Guy got $76M! The children's custody is still in the works, but at least Guy is set for life. For the sake of the kids the family will reportedly spend Christmas together across the pond.

Taylor Hanson, the middle Hanson brother, just welcomed his 4th child. They may have been "mmm bopping" through the 90s but now all the bros are busy procreating! Ricky Martin became a dad via a surrogate back in August, and now we finally get to see the super cute twin boys, Valentino and Matteo. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz have named Travis McCoy, lead singer of Gym Class Heroes, their baby's god father. But don't expect to see pics any time soon. Both parents said they're not all about selling Bronx's image. Usher and his wife Tameka welcomed their 2nd son, Naviyd Ely Raymond. Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber have also welcomed their 2nd son, Samuel Kai. Mariah Carey just cancelled her tour...adding more speculation to those pesky pregnancy rumors! Former Top Chef contestant Sam Talbot married his girlfriend Paola Guerrero, and designer Tommy Hilfiger finally married his long-time gf Dee Ocleppo.

Hopefully Amy Winehouse will get clean and in the process get better taste in men. Her soon-to-be ex-hubby, Blake Fielder-Civil reportedly is trying to extort money from the singer in exchange for not writing a tell-all book. Former Greys Anatomy star Kate Walsh and her hubby are splitting after only 3 months of marriage. I forgot about the joys of short-lived Hollywood marriages! Times are getting really tough for Michael Jackson. He already sold his Neverland Ranch, and now he's auctioning off personal items like his famous glittery white glove! So sad...truly an end to an era. And TLC's T-Boz is losing her home to foreclosure. If the rich can't keep their homes the who can?!?

Oprah has finally admitted to what everyone already knew. O has gained 40 lbs, now weighs in at 200 lbs and is quite ashamed of herself. She's hoping that the new year will bring her health and a smaller waist line. Toni Braxton just admitted to having a tumor removed from her breast. The singer decided to wait on the surgery till after her stint on Dancing With the Stars, but she now has a clean bill of health. Former child-star Macaulay Culkin just experienced a family tragedy. His older sister, Dakota, was killed after being hit by a car. Tara Reid has entered rehab after years of being a wasted mess on red carpets everywhere! Jennifer Hudson has backed out of taping her newest music video. It has only been 2 months since her mother, brother and nephew were brutally killed, and she just isn't ready to go back to work.

Yet again 2 more awards ceremonies have announced their nominations. This is T-Time's all-time favorite thing...red carpets and bad acceptance speeches...glory be! These are the 14th Annual Critics' Choice Awards nominees. The show will air January 8, 2009 on VH1. The 66th Annual Golden Globes will air January 11, 2009 on NBC . Here is the list of all the nominees! Actor Hugh Jackman has been named the host of next year's Oscars.

Political Playhouse:

Soon to be former Senator and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met with current Sec. of State Condoleezza Rice to get some inside tips for the job. It seems like Caroline Kennedy is seriously considering filling Clinton's Senate seat. She has expressed interest and has begun meeting with several NY gov't officials. And Senator and VP-elect Joe Biden just got a new German Shepard puppy.

President Bush made one last trip to Iraq but did not receive a warm welcome. An Iraqi journalist threw 2 shoes at the President in protest of what he calls the "occupation". Let's discuss the lack of Secret Service after the first shoe! The White House has just released the final Barney Cam (Barney being the Pres's dog)... and there are some big name guest stars in this last installment. Senator John McCain paid another visit to David Letterman, and things got bleepity bleep! Governor Sarah Palin's church in Wasilla, Alaska was burned down, and officials believe it was arson. Luckily no one was hurt.

President-elect Obama picked the right time to leave Illinois. His home-state is in he midst of a huge political scandal. Governor Rod Blagojevich has been charged with accepting bribes from other political officials, threatening officials, and worst of all trying to sell Obama's vacant Senate seat in exchange for things for himself and his wife. Many government officials are calling for Blago's impeachment. In protest to California's Proposition 8 and Arkansas's ban on gay adoption advocates in the gay community called for a "day without gays". Last Wednesday people were encouraged to call out "gay". The Big 3 automaker and the gov't are still fighting over the bailout. The more time passes the smaller the bailout amount gets...it's now down to ~$15B. They may come to a resolution this coming Wednesday.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! The state of Indiana has a case of the holiday blues. The state has just enacted some new rules for driver's licenses, and one of them is "no smiling". How sad...what about all of those super excited 17-year olds?!? Way to be a Debbie Downer Indiana! Rumor has it that there will be a remake of The Crow...hopefully this time no one will die on the set. One remake T-Time can't wait for?!? Melrose Place...the pilot is in the works! I don't know if any Desperate Housewives fans are left, but if you're one you'll be happy to know that there will be at least 2 more seasons of the ABC show. Why do shows like Housewives get picked up but Pushing Daises gets cancelled?!? Rolling Stone Magazine just released its list of the top 50 albums of the year. Check out if your faves made the list. Iconic 50s pin-up Bettie Page died at the age of 85 after suffering a heart attack and being in a coma. Keanu Reeves' new movie, The Day The Earth Stood Still has taken the #1 spot at the box office. If you enjoyed the video of the week with Beyonce's video dance-along, then you'll really enjoy this week's video of the week!

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! Celebrities are reproducing, and Hanukkah/Chanukah is less than a week away! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.

T-Time
Weekly News Update for the Week of December 2-8 2008

Do you work all day and have no time or energy to find out what's going on in the world? Do you get bored and impatient watching TV anchors tell you over and over what's going on? Do you sometimes care more about what Britney Spears is doing than what President Bush said during his State of the Union address? If you answered yes to even one of these questions this is what you've been waiting for! Every week I'm going to give you a quick rundown of the past week's biggest headlines. I won't bore you with minute details and shove tons of information down your throats. These are just the facts with a little humor for measure! And if you want to know more you can always just Google it or ask me.

No Mas O.J....Better Get Your Vitamin C Somewhere Else:

Well it has finally happened…O.J. Simpson was punished for a crime he committed! The Juice has been sentenced to prison after attempting to retrieve memorabilia that was "rightfully his" with the aide of a few thugs and guns. Orenthal James Simpson could serve anywhere between 9 and 33 years behind bars! He was offered a plea deal but was too c*cky to accept. Sucker! Whatever happened to just calling and asking for your stuff back?!?

Britney's comeback is definitely accomplishing its goals. Her new album is expected to sell big, she has been busy making appearances everywhere, and she just announced that she's going back out on tour. But all the momentum shouldn't be credited to her blood, sweat and tears. Her documentary was lackluster (she didn't answer the really juicy questions, and the ratings were pretty low), she has lip synched (and poorly at that) every performance, and she barely answers questions during interviews. I don't know if this Spears 2.0 is ready for all of this again :p And don't forget that the past will always come back to haunt you! Brit Brit's first husband (the one who only lasted 55 hours), Jason Alexander, landed his butt in jail for violating his parole. She sure knows how to pick 'em!

Not surprising at all...Oprah was just named the most powerful woman in entertainment. I think she should just own the title...I doubt there's anyone who could actually take that away from her! The Jolie-Pitts proved their perfection yet again. They just donated $100,000 to their foundation, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. And the cherry on their perfect sundae? Jolie was just named the highest paid actress in Hollywood ahead of Reese Witherspoon and Julia Roberts!

I'm not sure if anyone really cares, but if you do…Lindsay Lohan and her girlfriend Samantha Ronson have not split. At least not according to Lohan's MySpace blog. Amy Winehouse is apparently getting divorced from her incarcerated druggie husband. The damage has been done…hopefully she'll clean herself up and keep on singing. Actors Dylan McDermott and Shiva Rose have finalized their divorce. And Katie Holmes ex, Chris Klein has split from his actress girlfriend and Holmes lookalike, Ginnifer Goodwin. America's Next Top Model judge Nigel Barker and his wife Christen have just welcomed their 2nd child, daughter Jasmine Ines. Anne Heche and the man she left her husband for are expecting their 1st child together. I guess she's officially no longer a lesbian!

TV Time...excellent! NBC is doing a little reshuffling of its late night schedule. As many of you may know Conan O'Brien was going to take over for Jay Leno on the Tonight Show and SNL alum Jimmy Fallon was going to take over for Conan on Late Night. Most of the drama was over what Leno would do. Well now it looks like Leno is staying but getting his own show at 10 p.m., and then he'll be followed by O'Brien and Fallon respectively. That sounds like one funny lineup! For now you can check out Fallon's video blog...it's supposed to introduce the audience to the soon-to-be new host. For all you Gossip Girl fans...talks about a spinoff are reaching fever pitch. Most people are betting that the Jenny Humphrey character will be getting her own show! And if you just D.I.E. for Rachel Zoe you'll be happy to hear that her show is coming back to Bravo for a 2nd season.

Hugh Hefner's daughter, Christie Hefner, has stepped down as Playboy's Chairman and CEO. That's quite the family business to get into! Maybe one of the girls next door can fill her spot?!? Rumors are swirling whether Vogue's editor in chief and inspiration for Devil Wears Prada, Anna Wintour, is leaving the fashion mag. Insiders say 'yes', but she's denying. Oscar-winning director Roman Polanski is asking the U.S. gov't to drop rape charges stemming from 20 years ago when he was accused of sleeping with a 13-year old girl. Instead of facing punishment he fled for Europe and has yet to step foot back in the U.S. Why are all the talented ones so messed up (cough cough Woody Allen)? And speaking of oldies but goodies…Cher announced that she will release a new album of 60s covers.

Aside from all the family quality time and presents, the best part of the holiday season is all about the upcoming awards season. Now's the time when all the nominations are announced! The Grammys announced their list for the best in music. Lil' Wayne and Coldplay got the most love, but you can check out all the other nominees. And the IFC Spirit Award nominations have also been named. And just for fun, here's the NYPost's list of 2008's top 10 worst movies!

The NY Times Magazine has compiled a great list of some actors, artists, etc giving "screen tests"/intimate interviews. Really fun for all you celebrity-obsessed folks.

The Office of President-elect Barack Obama:

The seemingly perfect President-elect has an Achilles heel…he's still struggling with quitting smoking. During an interview with Tom Brokaw, on MSNBC's Meet the Press, Barack admitted that he sometimes still falls off the wagon but will do his best to not smoke in the White House. Fun fact…former First Lady and current Sec. of State pick Hillary Clinton banned smoking in the White House during her tenure. All you fashionistas can breathe easy because Obama already has his tux in the works for Inauguration Day. Chicago-based designer Hart Schaffner Marx, who made all of Obama's suits during the campaign, will be making a brand-new one for the big day. And Obama's former campaign manager, David Plouffe, will be writing a book about the soon-to-be Prez and the almost perfect campaign tentatively entitled The Audacity to Win, a play on Obama's best-selling The Audacity of Hope.

New Mexico governor and former Democratic presidential candidate Bill Richardson has officially been named as Obama's pick for Secretary of Commerce. So now that Clinton is joining the Obama administration the big question is who will fill her NY Senate seat. The most talked about candidate so far has been none other than Caroline Kennedy, daughter of JFK and niece of Senator Ted Kennedy. I doubt she'll take it, but it would be interesting if she did! And what better way to celebrate Hillary's big move than with an Amy Poehler/SNL skit!

The Georgia Senate race is finally over. Republican Sen. Saxby Chambliss defeated Democratic candidate Jim Martin in the runoff election. Now we're still waiting for Minnesota to pick their Senator!

The Big 3 automakers are still begging the gov't for a bailout. The trillions has gone down to billions and now it's down to millions. Maybe if they hadn't arrived in separate private jets the people would genuinely feel bad for them. But at least they're learning a lesson. For the 2nd round of hearings/begging all 3 CEOs arrived in cars, and GM and Ford are now selling their corporate jets. Let's see how much of the taxpayers' good money they'll get their greedy hands on!

A new host for MSNBC's Meet the Press has finally been named. The show has been temporarily hosted by Tom Brokaw since the untimely death of Tim Russert. But now it's official…David Gregory will be the new host of the longest running show on television. And in case the show is too intense for you…you can check all the useless news that doesn't really matter here.

News Potpourri:

I'll leave you with some quick news tidbits that couldn't fit either here or there so they're getting their own paragraph! If you use Facebook watch out for a virus called Koobface spreading through the network. It will send you a message "from" a friend, send you to another site, and then make you download a program. Don't do it! Amsterdam is doing the unthinkable. The gov't is closing down many of their "cafes" and parts of their Red Light District in order to fight organized crime. Their crime levels may go down but so will tourism! 99.9% of people who go to Amsterdam do so for 2 reasons...pot and legal sex...just saying! Olympian Michael Phelps has been named Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year. It's the first time a swimmer has been given this honor. One athlete not getting too many honors is Giants star Plaxico Burress who accidentally shot himself in the leg at a club 2 weeks ago, and now he has been benched for the season. To prove how many loopholes there are in our system a newspaper temporarily stole the Empire State building. The Daily News filled out paperwork with fake information and for a hot 90-minutes or so they actually owned the iconic building! Kind of scary…makes you think! The picturesque Italian city of Venice has been ravaged by flooding (the worse in 20 years)…the city was submerged for a few days. But the water has finally subsided! A study at Northwestern University has released a report stating that homosexuality is an "inborn combination of genetic and environmental factors". If you like the NY Times and/or coffee…you'll appreciate this little bit of art. Burger King's new campaign, Whopper Virgin, is taking a new approach to the famous "taste test". Representatives went to remote villages around the world and asked locals who have never tasted, seen, or even heard of hamburgers to try both a Whopper and Big Mac and choose. The result is really interesting…so here's your video of the week.

I hope this gives you an idea of what's going on in the world. Buck up…it's not so bad! The tree at Rockefeller Center has been lit and Ben Stiller has hinted at a possible Zoolander 2! All is right with the world!

Now go and have an intellectually stimulating conversation with your neighbor about what you've just learned.
